Ahaa, that's the problem with pink! whatever tone you choose, it would hurt the eyes too much

yeah...gotta agree with you there nick. and the blue table seems a bit too dark for me anyway....maybe making it a bit brighter would give it some life??

New red table looks good but it is very bright other than that great changes .....

The red looks great! But the balls don't, they aren't as round :S

OK, there's currently a bug related to the balls on the red table graphic. I'll patch in a little while to fix it.

aflumpire, problem is that the brightness is monitor dependent. That's why a choice is good, so long as 1 or 2 tables are fine for you it's great.

I think the red one looks good, looks quite similar to my design . But yeah only problem is the balls, and also I don't really like the black bit around the cushions

Good spot, the black around the cushions looks a bit tacky. Also the practice table font needs changing

I think it would be alright with the black bit - if it didnt look darker and bolder in some areas..

Another thing, the red ball is pink .. There is surely a way to find a different shade of red to fit the table.. Pink is nice, but it's not a red ball is it?

I'm not sure red works - i actually think a flat pink would work better as it wouldnt clash with any existing ball colour.

Just on that subject I would be really interested to find out what the majority of players are using now that the choice is there. Any chance of a straw poll?

My preference is still the original table - mainly because there is no shading on it and I think it gives the best contrast to the balls.

But full marks for continuing to try and develop and improve things.

OK red ball graphic bug is now fixed - but yes, I had to change a few colours (red, orange and brown) to be seen on the cloth. Getting them all to be visible anywhere in the table and different from each other isn't an easy task.

Regarding game breakdown, rather than a straw poll I can tell you what people have as the server saves the detail (showing players who have logged in since table changing has been available).

I am amazed by those stats to be honest and wonder how much its to do with blue being the default colour and people being to lazy to change it as opposed to it being the colour of preference. If you ever fancy experimenting set a different table colour as the default and see what the choice/stats shows then - only joking

Can you just let me know whether there will be a second table choice without shading or whether shading itself will become an option?

Yes, the vast majority of users are not power-users, they stick to the default in every option. Of course this makes it difficult to fairly compare the default.

Unsure right now for further colours - next I'm working on tables for other games (inc snooker), some killer changes (eg ranking) and some practice options.
