not a case of arguing....just an open forum to see what people think of the current situation of swearing and their personal beliefs and if they should 'bend the rules' sometimes...we have all bent the rules at sometime on here.

This is something often discussed in the chatroom by "kewl" new "T0tally R4d" members who think they know it all...

However, whenever a user signs up, in doing so they agree to have read, undestood, and abide by the rules of the site.

If you dont agree with them, dont sign up, its very simple.

Swearing, as we all know, is against the rules. So therefore everyone who posts on the forum has already agreed that swearing should not be allowed.

And finally - remember - 2 year olds can converse without swearing. What does that say about the mental age of someone who can't....

2 year olds can hardly speak mate . thats what it says. if some one cant speak then how are they ment to sware so therfore they have no choice but to converse without swearing.

He probably does, But the majority of people do aussieboy, But the outside world isn't family orientated is it?. We can, And are preventing people from swearing on the site, And it shouldn't be changed.

Why do you even feel the need to swear?, There are other ways to express your feelings that do not offend people, If you miss or playing bad, How is swearing going to cure that?. This just baffles me seriously.

Personally I'm not a massive fan of censorship. On the whole it tends to create more problems than it solves. Having said that, if swearing was allowed on the site, I suspect every other word in many posts would begin with 'f'.

I do have one or two issues with some of the words FP see as swear words though... but I'm not gonna elaborate on that. It's been discussed to death in the past.

Well, i've got a daughter who's 2, and her and her wee friends have had conversations that would put some threads on here to shame

The point i was trying to make is that swearing isn't necessary at all to have a conversation or to make a point.

I started my working life as a labourer on construction sites, so yes, i may swear in certain company, but never around children, and not on this site for the reasons stated above.

Swearing on funkypool is exactly like jumping past a big sign saying "SHARK INFESTED WATER - DO NOT SWIM" and diving in.

A small about of deluded people may thing its "cool", but the reality is that it just makes you look stupid.

There wasn't always a censor on funkypool.

On the whole it wasn't really a big issue but the chatrooms always tended to have at least one idiot who thought it would be funny to either give a lot of abuse to others or simply spam the chat room with certain expletives.

Because of this, having the filter makes the site better because it acts as a deterrent towards this attitude.

I personaly hardly swear on here or in real life. I dont have a problem with it, just dont see the need.

Swearing is pretty much uncalled for.. There's no reason to use foul language -- regardless of whether or not you're using it to get your point across or if you're doing it to sound hardcore.

Swearing is against the rules, simple as.. if its not real-like enough for you as a result then i guess heading down to the local for a few games then, and let us civil people have our game back!

I wouldn't say it's gone any further than 'heated debate' status. Just seems to be people expressing their views. It doesn't seem to have become personal yet.

Just my two cents... or about 1p in real money.

The English language is a wonderful, colourful and diverse one, so why is it a lot of people feel that they can only ever express them selves by using one of the four letter curses baffles me.

Its so much more...enjoyable to just learn some more interesting words and use those to express yourself without resorting to swearing.

Then again, when we're angry we don't want to turn around and say 'oh codswallop' or something. I guess thats just a sign of the times.

There's a book out there called 'The Superior Persons Book of Words'. It's fun. And I'm an English Lit student, hence my interest in words.

OK, can i present this to people without my head being blown off. And what in about to say is NOT saying that Funkypool should see it this way...IM NOT

But with swearing, most of them are 4 letter words. There are many 4 letter words in this world such as ball, bear, snow, rain, fine, fire, cool, warm, meet, POOL, mini....all these words are 4 letter words just like any 'bad' word.

I am not saying that this is an excuse to swear at all but I don't see why people get so...nancy pants over a few little words that are coverd by stars.

no one here is saying that anyone swears on here (unless they said it themselves...i have since stoped entirely).

Can people please grow up as im starting to pull out my hair over this topic!!!
