well said i mean the game is kinda easy its like special ed pool huge pockets and balls... the table in real life isnt like that at all i mean i know this is "funky" pool but perhaps we could have a 8 ball uk pro with the more realistic table that way everyone will be happy, but why are people so scared to change it.. i mean makes the game more fun and challanging and if ur that good then it shouldnt matter.. and for the rules, i really dont care lol but i also agree with spinner a trial one with the snooker table would be nice just to see what its like

i watch and play 8ball uk and i can assure you that 2 shot carry is a official and propper rule. this is not an issue the issue is putting jaws on the pockets or not. I just find it silly that you can pot a ball along a cush into a middle bag!

Anyone who wants a change i suggest you go play online pool elsewhere. Stop complaining.

I think that the 8 ball UK table does look outdated compared to the 8 ball US one, but if you notice, some shots that seem true just don't end up going into the pocket... Like they just roll over it. That's part of a challenge as well. But I think what Spinner said is good... maybe a trial run on a new table?

ok last thing on this us 9 ball you couldnt possibly pot a ball along the cush into the middle bag!

Uk 8 ball you cant possibly miss a ball along along the cusih into the middle bag!

in any form of cue sports you shouldnt be able to pot a ball along a cusion into a middle bag.

Finally if the arcade snooker table was used as the new table then id certainly play it along with a lot of snooker players. And if people like this old one then maybe just keep it and have new one to go along side it!

I don't see the point in changing it. UK 8 ball is the flagship game of the site and still the most popular. Changing it to be more like the US table would make it more realistic yes, but you would lose the variety that it brings to the site.

This is managing for the most part to remain a decent debate. Almost all major changes to the site have been debated in this way. There are many good ideas being suggestedm Nick shall take these on board as any future decisions are made.

It is natural that when changes are made people will ask for more. A good thing for the site in general.

I think everyone will agree the removal of the most popular table is out of the question, however there is never anything wrong with suggesting alternatives.

If they happen to be more popular over time, then so be it.

Can I point out the arguement that was 1st brought up has now been hidden once again!

i dont htink the current table should be changed instead there should be a 8ball uk pro table where you cant pot in the middle bag along the cushion and it isnt quite as easy to pot the balls.
I know the us8 and us9 games werent as popular but a uk8 pro would be different.
maybe you wouldnt get loads of intermediates playing it but a lot of pros would play it and i think it would be as popular as the current table is as you can see from peoples comments on it.

think people are not understanding what i am asking for here , i dont wish for any of the dimensions of the uk table to be changed pocket size etc, just looking for a better finish to the frame to make it look more dated
