nice tench tin, they dont get any bigger than 5lb in the river i fish may have to try new river this year to look for bigger ones lol, shame about the catfish mate would of been a very nice catch .

lol i only fish lakes mate to be honest never fished rivers id like to try it though

i got a couple of new reels and i new hold all as my old 1 was robbed

any1 know how big GOLDEN tench grow to ive caught some about 1 lb lol

try river fishing when you get the chance tin, you will be shocked at how different the fish look compared to fishes from lakes { colour }

went earlier on today for a couple of pike i come home with a cold and a cut on me hand BUT il be back doing it next weekend hahaha LOVE IT

oh and by the way caught 2 pike 5lb and 8lb and a nice perch

i caught one pike before, i was using boileys and when i was reelin in i though i caught some weed but it turned out to be a 6lb pike

haha i have had some thing simualar, was fishing a river, had a little twitch on my quiver rod struck it and started reeling it in when something bigger got hold of my line, when i finally got it to the bank a pike around 5/6 lb had grabbed the little roach that had gave me the bite in the 1st place lol, the roach was in the pikes mouth and a tiny bit of the hook had just caught the pikes lip, i still wonder how it stayed on there for me to get it to the bank

there are some nice perch around again now, gradually getting back to a nice size after they nearly all died off a few years ago

went again before waited 6 hours for a bite when the bite alarm FINALLY went off hooked into a 9lb mirror very nice fish but think ive caught a cold all worth it though

i am a carp angler at heart, carp fishing for me is getting out of hand, i mean things are so high-tec now i dont know where to begin. specially being a student i cant afford 6 tonns of boileys for each days fishing, it almost seems too much to handle, soon people will need lessons to even have a remote chance of catching. not to mention the amount of waters goin syndicate.
This year i will target the bream and tench. Never have before so it will be interesting.
What targets do you people have for this year.....

targets for this year, got to find the time to go at the minute lol, sydicate lakes are so dear down here in the south and not really for me carp fishing, i like your idea on trying to catch bream and tench this year try for chub as well they are very nice fish and another great fish to try for is barbel, i may of mentioned before on this thread that catching a 10lb barbel is like catching a 20lb carp, they are so strong really give you a good fight. good luck mate.

i fish once in a blue moon but the barbel is one of the most beutiful fish and adidas is right they are very strong

You must agree though that fishing is a sport (if you can call it that) for people that aren't good at athletic sport. Similar to darts being a sport for fat people.
