Don't see the point of terrorizing the poor fish just for fun...same goes for hunting. Can't call this a sport

lol nothing like hunting mate. all the fish i catch are returned to the river with no harm done to the fish. where hunting involves killing.

i pay 24.50 a year to terrorise those little fishies lol

I love fishing, but not for sport. I do actually eat the fish I catch.

I hate hunting. Hunting for sport is morally wrong to me. No offence to those who do hunt, however. We all have our own opinions.

woodlakes in north side of norfolk is good, you get a log cabin right next to the lake,, there is 5 lakes on the site i think, it is dear but good fishing, thats where i caught my 21 lb common carp had 4 other doubles with that 1, ranging from 11 lb up to 15 lb

i prefere to be on a lake thats natural and not that many people. i hate day ticket waters where every swim is taken. i went to the yately lakes complex and there were ppl waiting to fish behind me in my swim. not nice,
but iv heard about woodlakes, maybe i'll give it a go....sounds good.

I think fishing for fun is wrong, cause having a hook put through their mouth don't really harm them! <sarcasm>

I think hunting for fun is wrong, hunting and eating your kill/catch is life, so therefore ethically right!

I'd like to go fishing and eat my catch afterwards, but I know my wife wouldn't have it, she wouldn't like to catch something then eat it! Bloody women!

(You broke the mould Katie)

well im sorry even tho most anglers (well i do) carry anti-septic bottles so when i do catch, the fish returns totally unharmed, plus the hooks i use are barbless! not forgetting unhooking mats!!

I have no idea what you've just told me?

And no need to be angry at my opinion, just my opinion, doesn't make me right!
(Although I live by universal ethics so in a round about way it does)

A scientific study was once done to determine if fish experienced pain. Since the fish had no reaction to pain stimuli, it was surmised that fish lack pain receptors and therefore "feel" no pain

If your going to debate with me back it up with some evidence. I'd never believe that they can't feel pain, same as the conception that Lobsters don't feel pain, I'm not having none of it!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/2983045.stm

No, I've never been fishing, nor intend too. Not my thing, can think of better things to relax myself.

Anyway, don't want to ruin the thread for the intended people, back on topic.............

Why dont you just admit that your wrong instead of bringing the old.... "dont want to ruin the thread" up.

PLus fish only have a 3 second memory therefore they forget they have been caught thats why they bite again and again. And fish do NOT feel pain.

Get a rod and stop moaning.

I won't admit I'm wrong, as I'm not wrong. I have scientific evidence to back it up, where's yours?

http://www.e-aquarium.com.au/aquarium_experiments.htm

Cambridge University also done a longitudinal study on fish and found that their memories could span no less than 8 months!

To say another animal does not experience pain is absolute ignorence. Did you also know the world is round?

You'll notice that in each of my debates I use evidence to back up my theories and beliefs, please have the common curtosy to the same people.

I miss Spinner!
