I agree about in-season testing. However I think the changes have invigorated F1 - it's made people believe in miracles and that change can come fast, big teams won't always win!!

I completely love the changes - and seeing new teams at the top is just great for the sport.

The bad move was to introduce both so many changes AND a test ban at the same time. It was pretty obvious to anyone that testing would be more necessary than ever this season, so this is an extra blow for the currently struggling teams.

Oh well, this season is as good as over I think, Button will snatch it comfortably. It's well deserved too by all means. He's been given the best car on the grid, but has shown (contrary to my expectations) that he is more than capable of making the most of it.

We'll have to wait for next year before the battle is on for real.

I think it's fair to say that F1 is all about the car and has nothing to do with who's the best driver.. where was Button last season..where is Hamilton this season..

The day the 40m budget cap comes in and all teams hanve similar performing cars is the day F1 is saved from the predictable procession it is..

It's a great deal about the car, no one is denying that. But it's also far from all about the car.

Look at Hamilton and Kovalainen for example... They are driving identical cars in terms of effort and backing, something we know is a fact after all the fuss with Alonso vs. Hamilton two years back. Still one driver is doing it a LOT better than the other.

Tons of other examples too - Alonso vs. first Fisichella and now Piquet... not a match at all...

Button is beating Barrichello fairly convincingly...

The car means a lot, but it still takes a good driver to convert that into points.

Wouldnt have rated Button at all...although he has been in crap cars in recent seasons.. But Barrichello is surely a better driver.. no? Maybe people get worse with age...

Barrichello is clearly not a better driver or he would be leading the championship right now.

Maybe you didn't watch the season where he was putting a Honda on the podium, even winning a race when it was no where near as good as that?

Big day for F1 today... deadline for next years entries and a single team having applied this far

Going to be interesting to say the least - the protesting teams needs to make their call today.

Williams would have had a tough season had no one else signed, who would win, Rosberg or Nakajima

Anyway, for the Turkish Grand Prix qualifying:

1. Vettel
2. Button
3. Barrichello

Vettel looked good and Rubens did well to get the car in 3rd after his first two runs in Quali 3.

Hamilton down in 16th after a poor performance from the McLaren's as Kovalainen is 14th.

Hamilton's car looks like it's trying to kill him! lol

Should be an interesting race, expected more from Ferrari. Button's got it all to do, dirty side of the track, he'll be hoping for a good start.

I'm gonna say Button, Vettel, Barrachello.

I've actually lost total interest in F1 now...
Shame, it used to be good.

Sort of understand that, I mean Button is just winning every race, got bored when Schumacher won every race practically. Only thing that makes it barable at the moment is that it is a Brit doing it at the moment.

Like BTCC more than F1

It's not even Button winning all the time, it's just not the same as it used to be.

I don't see how it's not the same as it used to be.

I get what everyone is saying about Button winning all the time - however it's nothing like the Schumacher reign. The only reason Button won today is because of a mistake from Vettel, swiftly followed by some brilliant driving.

The fact Button can make soft tires last gives him a distinct advantage over cars that are up there with him. Superb drive from him today.

I personally feel that qualifying is more exciting now. I do wish they wouldn't tell us the weights though - I love guessing what's happening.

I'm sure Dave wouldn't be like that if it was Coultard tearing the field to bits.....

I wouldn't be actually, i'd be more gobsmacked than anything else.

Oh and the fact that he's been there and done that!!

Well he's not quite been THIS far and done THAT.....

I actually remember cheering Coultard on when he was with McLaren, good days, well almost.

Nelson Piquet Jnr going?? Flavio doesn't look happy... Anyone here Alonso's radio transmision? "I can't do that" haha

Better than Mark Webber's blue language after he came 3rd in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Button: How did you get there?
Webber: Massa *bleep* Vettel's. Whoops sorry, cameras there

Somet along them lines anyway
