Hi, I have said about this before, people copying your username, I never thought it had happened to me until i just got a pm from *a user* with a very similar name to one of mine. Is there any way we can put this to a stop?

No i dont think so torny, if it is the same its not alowed but if it is a bit differant they are alowed it unfortunately

its simply free will m8 i dont know if Nick can do anything about it but hes the only 1 that knows that.

Well im not going to go into full details but there is one letter change and an underscore put in. I think this is really ridiculous and people should come up with a username of their own. There have been a few people "copying usernames" and one I saw on snooker aswell.

It would be good if we had a section on the site which lets us report somebody copying your name/picture etc. but i dont think that would happen.

being able to report some1 is harsh, but i know its unlikely, but what if they thought of the name theirself

Well thats almost impossible. They obviously had spotted my name and then took it, changed it slightly. But the worst thing is that they pm'd me before saying anything to me in chat rooms. I hadnt even spoke in the chat rooms so there was no reason to pm me. Just is a bit annoying how people cant think of something themselves.

i was annoyed when i saw "tread2 has entered members bar" but like someone once sed, im quite flattered that someone went to the trouble of duplicating my name...

You can only do something if they are trying to pass as you, if they do this then go through contact us etc!

Nearest one i've got is oneeye, but he's normal and don't want to be like me! *wonders why*

It depends what the circumstances are, if their just creating a username, and for example some tried my username...they would get a prompt saying its taken so theirs nothing to stop them creating jackdaniels or jack__daniels, but if their creating a username with the purpose of impersinating someone then its breaking TOS (pressuming TOS are the same for here as snooker).

Yes impersonating another user is a no-no, but similar names can be created innocently.

I'm sure if you see the person and say something like "WOW! you like me so much you wanted to have the same name so you could be JUST LIKE ME! Thats so cool! Thankyou!"

That may just put them off...
