There's no technical reason why multiple tournaments could not take place simultaneously, and yes, they could even start at the same time.

I'm against splitting the server further, and there's no real need for it. I estimate the current setup to be able to support 1000 online comfortably, and there's other simple steps we can do to boost this amount even further.

However I am keen to change the tournament structure in certain ways - rewarding tournament wins according to popularity and having less occasional super-tournaments.

After this we could look at having tournament schedules for each event as well - we could just show tournament info according to your chosen game type so it won't be cluttered or appear more busy.

(Wants to start working on this right now )

Just so I can start getting excited already - by super tournaments do you mean multi-discipline?

(If not - hope you can add that to the no doubt looong list of ideas!)

I wasn't thinking multi-discipline. More along the lines of tournaments only open to qualifiers (recent tournament winners, for example).

I can't help but think that "super tournaments" should be a bit more special than "recent tournament winners" as there are so many already

I have an Idea:

When you enter a tournament you receive points, based upon how far you get. To enter the "Special tournament" you must obtain a certain amount of points between certain deadlines. That way people who consistently show support of tournaments by entering them regularly, also get to play aswell as the people who win tournaments regularly. Meaning that effort can pay off in Two ways, as well as helping lesser ability players qualify for the tournament.

Kev.

Yes, something along this line is intended, but I was considering the top 64 or so scores. Setting a qualifying score as you suggest could work better.

Are other IE7 users having this problem?

Tried it on a few builds and can't re-create.

IE7 requires that you re-install add-ins (like java, active x applets etc) - phave you done that Kev?

Go to add/Remove programs and get rid of anything to do with Yahoo, run a registry cleaner (search for "Regclean" if you dont already have one) and then re-install IE7..

If that dont work then proceede to headbutt the table a few times before posting back.

I'm getting sick of the little table, especially the 9 ball tournaments race to 1 or 2. It has got me thinking - is it actually possible in the small 9 ball game to consistently win matches and tournaments without going out to some lucky swine who flukes at crucial moments? I don't know about anyone else but I've not been ko'd by anyone who has actually deserved to win the match through good play for absolutely ages!

THIS is one of the reasons I want more big table tournaments, so I've actually got a chance of winning because it's harder to get flukes on them therefore generally the person who plays better has a chance of actually winning!
