I still no nearer to resolving this incredibly irritating phenomenon. It's happened to me 3 times today already, and I'm about ready to smash my keyboard up I'm so frustrated. I just broke off in my tourny match and lo and behold, the 1/8, 2/8 starts ticking away in the background and I end up being kicked out and losing 3-0.

I don't think I can put into words how incredibly addicted I am to funkpool and how incredibly frustrating I find it when the server chucks me out.

This is the message I get when I try to enter the funkypool site:
The connection has timed out
The server at www.funkypool.com is taking too long to respond.


As soon as I'm thrown out and the login button appears in my game window, the site works again and I can log back in.

I'm going into detail again because I want someone else to tell me they know exactly what is happening and how to resolve it. And the answer isn't to use IE or about DSL filters.

the non responding and getting logged out is something we all have to deal with mate your not alone .
i know it can be annoying butjust have to bite your tongue and accept it to be honest i can not tell you how to solve this problem in any way . all i can say is your not alone.
and another thing the server did get restarted twice today maybe that could of been a problem

haha I laugh at my post, I was sooooo wound up last night! It was combination of people being lucky against me, being thrown out and being hopelessly addicted to the point of obsession.

I guess one way of looking at it is imagining something like this working 10 years ago where you can play live tournaments and you wouldn't believe it, so it's pretty damn clever that it works at all.

But hey, if there's a way of sorting it so it doesn't happen then I wanna know!

I'm almost certain spinner is working on it as we speak!

oh my god, I just cleared up to win my 9 ball match and I said "gg ul" and it didn't appear and I thought "here we go again" and sure enough the count to 8 started and I went down as a loss EVEN THOUGH I WON!!!!

hey wow, something AMAZING just happened!

I was in my match and I start getting the freeze thing and the count, so as a last resort thinking I was yet again doomed, I disabled my wireless connection and re-enabled it and I went back to my game! And the bonus is that my opponent was only watching so he got dq'd!

I know its frustrating - but these things aren't down to funkypool's server.

Its a network problem somewhere, though it has been more common recently.

MSN messenger is also badly affected at the moment and unless Nick isn't telling us something, that sure doesn't run on the pool server!

What ISP do you use?

I'm on tiscali, and my phone point is in another room so I use a wireless connection (linksys). Anyway, as I said I think I've found a way round it. All I need now is way round not getting so frustrated I could kill when I lose a 3rd semi final of the day to someone I shoulda beaten to zip.

I'm with Tiscali at home too, and there have been a couple of complete service losses over the past few days.

One other possibility is your network is being hogged by a something else (eg downloading, streaming, or maybe even a virus). This could explain why it worked again after you restarted your wireless connection.

It's meant to be password protected but I've seen the range of these things. Thanks, I'll look into it

Sorry to dig this one up again but the problem isn't going away. It sorts it most times when I disable and re-enable my wireless but it's happening way more frequently.

Is there some sort of problem because several tournaments now I've noticed way more people being DQ'd at the start of the next round, it makes me think more people must experiencing this more often.

To be honest, I can't relax in tournament games now because I know at any minute the clock on my opponents shot could go to 0 and stay there for ages without a shot being played.

Well i know its frustrating, but the fact is that connection problems are not something FP can do anything about.

To be honest, i have to give Nick big props here. I dont know many othe online games which will let you re-start your router and carry on playing!

If you're on wireless, be wary of others hogging using your connection.

yeah I've checked and I'm sure it's pretty safe. Just thought something was up these last few days when half the field gets DQ'd at the same time I'm having connection problems. Like I said before, it's not like it's gone down coz everthing else works apart from FP.

I'm sure it'll be resolved in due course once a cause has been located.
