Dunno if this has not been said before but i just feel theres something missing after ya win a tourny, think there should be some points awarded for getting to the final, say 3 for runner-up 5 points for winning. this has probably been posted a thousand times before but if u agree post a reply

i just dont agree with the "yeah nice one fella ya just spent an hour and a half trying ya best to beat the best and all ya get is ya name in lights for 10 secs and another tally on ya profile" maybe there should be sort of banner with ya name at the top of the page or somethin like that for a short duration until the next tourny has been won? i dunno.

I reckon you shouldnt make tourney games win rank at the end, if i had 3 points for every tourney i won imagine my ranks!

and tourneys take a hell lot of time to complete. So, not fair for players who are good but don't have that much time to finish the whole tourney. So, i guess the current ranking system is good. But i feel that in ranked games quality is not captured. say if you loose by 7 balls more points must be deducted but if you loose by just 1 ball then less points must be deducted. but its not there.

People could get to 1000 rank without ever playing a ranked game...

Or when they get to virtuoso, just play tourneys so you can lose no rank....except to the daily reduction, bit unfair me thinks

who bothers to check that and really pay attention to it unless ya lookin for a pacific name? I like the number of tourny wins in front of ya Rank say like Chav_h8r2 T-wins 4. professional (824.0) something like that, for those with 50 wins then it should strike fear into the hearts of his opponent!

Its been mentioned many times, and the ideal solution always comes down to the obvious - just make all tourney games ranked.

That way, if you win, you will have won at least 6-10 ranked games.

However, it has been mentioned that making tourney games ranked would be difficult to code, not sure why but maybe Nick will answer.

Yeah but if the tourney games were ranked then there would have ranked tourneys and none ranked tourneys.

I join tourneys for the fun of it i find ranked more serious. Its like you can play newbies and if you lose its a laugh wouldnt be the same losing like 4 points for losing a frame!

Plus i use the 1st rounds of the tourney to warm up for the rest... if it was ranked i wouldnt sign on play a tourney as i wouldnt want lose points for being rusty.

Far less high ranked players will play the tourney!

The list of 25 previous winners is a little bit short, methinks. Back when there was one UK 8 ball tournament every three hours (about 11 months ago) a list of 25 winners extended back to about 3 days. How about increasing this list? Or how about a league table of recent wins?

I think that makes sense, and improving tournament structure in a few specific ways would be good, including:
- more players entering = bigger prize
- small prize for runner up and semis



Actually it would be a very simple change, in fact just need to add a checkbox in a couple of places.

My opinion is that ideally all competitive games should be ranked. Playing a ranked game for just ranking position is flawed. The overall opinion when last queried was people didn't want it ranked.


We do keep the last 1 weeks tournaments (about 170) so it could show this on a new page.

If tournaments are ranked, ranking points would be gained and lost as per usual rules, ie you would gain and lose on a per game basis.

Nick i really like the idea of tournaments with ranking points, i feel that if this was established then there would be a greater feeling of accomplishment when ppl win, not only do ya gain another win added to ya profile, getting so far will also help ppl up the ranking ladder.
