im sorry but a tactical shot is the one that put you in the snooker originally. a well played snooker is jsut as good a shot as any pot. making no atempt to play a ball is the equivilent of picking a ball out of the pocket and stiking it bak on the table. it is canceling out some great play by your oponent unethically. the only fair way in my eyes to cancel out a snooker is to escape from it.
All that counts is the end result that is rubish for my money the result is just a bonus id rather play a good game and lose than win in a naff match with this gamesmanship.
it realy isnt worth playing a game if it isnt played in the right spirit.

Yes, but some people say playing the snooker isn’t playing the game in the right spirit! If somebody is trying to get 2 shots from you just so ‘they’ can win it’s only fair to try and turn the tables.
The point of the game is to try and win, or am i mistaken? I play for fun of course, but i play to win first and foremost. If that's a crime then a lot of people on here must be doing something wrong?
I guess it's just a matter of opinion at the end of the day.

but playing snookers is a fundemental part of uk8ball pool, and the delibrate foul rule is only not aplied as it is unenforcable by a computer. but you know what youv found a loophole,it must feel realy fufiling to win when the other guy deserved to. i thought it was just overpaid pansies who like to do this sort of thing, but i geuss its jsut me and ian atkin(manager of torquay utd who recently threatend to fire any of his players if they dive) that still advokae sporting paly. shame

I'm sorry if i seemed to be awkward there, but as i said at the beginning, i would be happy if i saw an opponant play the sporting tactical shot rather than try to escape an un-escapable snooker.
After all, a less-on shot is usually the best escape anyway.
Remember, this is UK 8Ball we are talking about, and, quoted directly from the EPA rules : Deliberate fouls are not punished over and above the punishment for the foul itself (except for abusive fouls such as deliberately moving balls with the hand)
I apologise for my earlier mistake. There is no loophole. Funkypool is an accurate replication of the real-world rules regarding deliberate fouls.

I can see both points here, but im with pool_life, whats the point in playing an impossible shot (and i do mean no chance what so ever of hitting your ball) when you can take away the persons advantage, i think it's a quirk of the fp game, i think you should play someone like mr_mcquiston (who snookers at every chance) then see if you'd change your mind!

...in which case the deliberate foul is fair and legal, and so not unsporting, gamesmanship or anything else.
It is no less tactical than snookering, and shows awareness of the game.
It's no use cherry-picking which rules you like and which rules you don't. It's all legal, so there's no need to get so upset about it.

LMAO!!!!!
I thought a deliberate foul meant you lost the game in 'real' uk 8 ball, that is why eye stand corrected!!!! (gotta stop sayin that!)
