You can nominate players to be included in it. It's just for show really, but I thought it was a good idea. And thanks 8_ball_paul, i have occasional brainwaves despite me being rather dense.

Having a few initial inductee's is good, say 20 or so, in fact there's nothing wrong with having more than one entrant a year, its just that the voting would need to average out over a time like that to be fair and sensible.

There should defo be a minimum membership time though. Like only people who have been members for 3 years or more can be nominated, so you dont get "flash in the pan" people who only play for a couple of years ending up with those who deserve it...

Agree with Spinner on this one. If the hall of fame were to go ahead, it should be very exclusive. In sport new people are only usually inducted every few years!

... And usually after many years of service!

Seriously, if its to mean anything, you have to think about what the site will be like in, say, 2026, not "how cool would it be now"..

See squeezy, you can look forward to one day being a hall of famer! Wouldn't be much fun if you just got shoved in now would it!

It certainly makes sense to have a bigger group of inductee's for the inaugural year - i'd say 5 or 6.

That way it sorta fills out to begin with then 2 or 3 per year from then on....

How about 5 initial inductees (as you suggested spinner) and then 1 every 2 months? The initial inductees should be the biggest legends in my opinion. I will create a shortlist for them for people to vote on.

2 months doesn't give much time for voting, but i know you want to keep things moving quickly so how about vote for 2 months with an inductee quarterly (ever 3 months).

As mentioned before it will also be essential that nominee's have been members (on thier current username) for at least 3 years. This will avoid the HoF getting filled with deleted and 1 year flash-in-the-pan players...

Yea the voting system sounds ok, but I think it should be 2 years, not 3, on their current username, as there would be very few people if it was 3. Also, this is open for great players from the past as well, even if they don't currently have a user name.

Yeah 2 years would be fine. And also fine with players from the past, so long as they haven't deleted obviously (since that means they dont want anything to do with the site anymore)
