But why would you want to reset in the first place, making a reset button will create more problems, say you delete you are opening yourself to having your account name pinched and therefore acts as a detterent to people resetting there account every 5 minutes.

The amount of support for a reset option speaks for itself. (as do the quantity of "deleted users" on the forum!)

People like to reset for challenges to themselves, or against others etc.. Just read the thread referred to above for example..

One problem is a player does need to be able to terminate an account, or at least remove their details from the server.

So maybe instead of delete it would be to decommision the account. This would not allow anyone else to signup on that name, and would still show the stats.

That's how our development forum at work operates. users (or admins) simply set the profile to inactive, and after a set period of time (I'd guess a year) an email is sent telling the operative to login if they dont want the account deleted.

More work for you but definitely a neater option!

If one reset their score do they become a newbie again? And lose posting abilities for the duration?

If you reset it do you lose your golden breaks, run outs, seven ballings and tourny win.

I would assume so. It was dscussed that it would be nice to be able to reset certain parts, like rank only, but that requires a lot more work for Nick.

I guess it will depend how popular the existing reset function is...

Exactly squeezy, if you could reset only certain stats it would be very easy to get "perfect stats". Also it would look incorrect if you had played 0 games yet had 25 seven ballings.

Hence when you reset your stats you lose all your stats.

But isn't that what the history is for, so people can see what you have achieved right from signup day?

I think the idea is (or certainly was) to be able to reset the stats for only one game type.

yeah i've said it before and i will say in again my us8ball has gone horribly wrong! not worried about tourny wins etc coz i dont have any apart from that amazing tourny when the server went down.

here is my plea, please reset my us8ball wins, losses the works!

Yea spinner i totally agree with that, i think we should have a reset button for each game. If you are a virtuoso on UK8, but with terrible stats on US 9, you don't reasllyu have a choice in the matter but to delete everything!

But we can't ask for everything on the menu now can we?

I tried that in a mcdonalds, 'everything please' and i got "do you want fries with that?" :-\
