I DONT have a problem with it. If i'm playing, and someone PM's me, the window appears behind the game window with the taskbar button flashing so i know its there, and can answer when i finish my shot or whenever i like.

This is how most people must see it, and would appear to be the sensible way Nick would have coded it.

Wouldnt you prefer if your PM windows behaved properly too?

Do you think its fair to spout abuse at someone for PM'ing you when they would not be aware it could pop-up in front of the game?

Perhaps whoever posted the solution last time will chip in here.... I'm almost certain it was a toolbar issue.

thats not worth pm'ing spinner, why would anyone pm that only to distract there opponent.

edit: from a technical perspective, I have used at least four browsers and 4 os's and all have ahad the same result.
Ubuntu dapper drake, mas os 10, redhat, windows xp.
opera, internet explorer, ie 7.0, mozilla firefox.
and on different computers including mac, toshiba, sony viao, hp's, dells, etc etc etc

Ok, i tried to explain it slowly but i'll try again, one more time.

This thread was started by someone who claims they were distracted by something typed in a PM window.

Therefore stating that THEY had a problem. I DO NOT have this problem, nor can i re-create it. So i certainly didnt bring it up!

If someone types in the game window, it is still right there in front of you to distract you, if your PM windows are working what can naturally be assumed to be correctly, you dont. Not untill YOU choose to do so.

Now, being totally sensible and any silly personal dislikes apart, what would be the best solution:

Me, to mess with my system till i can get the windows to pop up in front of the game so as to be distracting,

Or you to sort out your system so they pop-up behind the window unobtrusively?

For the record, i have sorted out my system so they don't pop-up in front of the game window

It use to pop up though, thats what you don't seem to relise and there fore you get abused by people because of it!

Just use the game windows chat like everyone else spinner for god sake man!!!

Since you have sorted your system out in that time, please, instead of all this hellery, post the solution on here so no-one else has the problem!

As i said, i have never been able to re-create the phenomenon so cant propose a solution!

For the record, i personally find most people prefer to chat via PM during games, and there are just a rare few who rant and rave about using the game window (usually the ones who type gibberish as mentioned above)

But back to the point, please, post a walk-through, maybe Nick can add it to the help section too..

Actually guess who I would appreciate if you could post how to stop the windows popping up in front of the game, since getting mod you get a lot of pm's it would be less distracting, thanks m8.

You can easily recreate that effect in IE or Firefox by turning off the popups and ads anyways!

I hadnt thought about the Mods as an example. How could mods cope if all the windows appeare on top of the game?!?

Spinner as far as i can see your the only one who gets the pm window to pop up behind the screen. How many other people have posted on here to say they back you up? All i can see is people agreeing that it pops up in front of the screen.

I'm not trying to antagonise people, i'm someone who is taking the time to point out that people who see it pop up in front, which i accept happens to some, are in the minority, and they dont have to be annoyed by this, as it is not the way its supposed to happen.

It seems obvious to me that :

A : Most people would ignore someone saying the window appeared in front as a feeble excuse or something to moan about.

B : Most people have never heard of a chat window appearing in front of a game and so ignore topics like these.

As i said before, if it happened to everyone, dont you think out of the almost 50000 members, more than 3 or 4 would have mentioned it?

I would love to help these people solve the problem but i simply cant re-create it!

Sure, i could say nothing, but then the people who have windows appear in front would then continue to be annoyed by them, think its a feature of the game, and look stupid for moaning about people PM'ing them and putting them off!

When the PM window appears, if u click anywhere but on the PM window, it disappears onto your toolbar and stays there no matter how many times a distractor sends u messages.

It IS a cheat method employed by some idiots, but it doesn't work if u do that, so no problem.

Your PM window Spinner? Has anyone else ever agreed with you that it appears BEHIND the table, because I've played funkypool on about 10 different pc's on 3 different continents, and I've never seen it do that.

I think I may have asked you before, but do you open and close the window first, cos I can't see how else it could??

Spinner you have been on this subject about PM windows for as long as i can remember....

You shud just accept that most people on this site have the PM's pop up IN FRONT of the game window, therefore they find it easier to chat in the CHAT box as that is what it is there for, you are the one of the only people on the site to only use the PM windows for chatting!!

deal with it and just play like steph said we are all in the same boat, those who dont block it (apparantly that can be done) and we dont complain

Spinner the PM window appears in front of the game windows for everyone bar yourself as discussed on numerous threads previously.

If anyone has problems with people PM'ing to put you off, just put that person on your ignore list or choose ignore PM's while competing.

Please stay on topic or this thread will have to be capped.
