Beannie, would you mind explaining how the idea is not beneficial when its clearing helping people who are trying to talk to someone who isn't there. Especially if your trying to talk to a moderator or admin and they are "getting a drink". Would you like staff members to ignore you? Didn't think so. Fair enough you haven't had a rant in a while, rant on a thread with a bad idea beacause there is plenty of those. This however is a good idea that could prove VERY beneficial to all members and staff alike.....

seriously beannie i think this would be a good addition because as drseden has just pointed out would you like it if you PM'd an admin/moderator and they didn't reply as they was getting a drink and even members it's not nice when you feel that you are being ignored fair enough it is ONLY a site as most people normally state but what if there was a problem and the admin/mod you PM'd wasn't there it has happened to me alot when i Pm rich but i know he isn't there or if he is i no that i am doing his head in but seriously i think this would be beneficial ....and i didn't want people ranting at me either(easly offended) lo;

i see what you are saying but if you pm'd admin they would get back to you as soon as they saw the message as its part of their job. it doesn't really make a difference whether its there or not to me anyway but its just an opinion. :)

I just dont see what the difference is between setting an away message, and simply logging off! Indeed setting messages will probably take longer than the one click currently required.

But some people seem to think it will be good so...

spinner the reason why i think that this would be a good addition as it's alot easier than signing out for 5 mins then signing back out,as in msn you would set as away instead of signing out if your just nipping to get drink ect. right?....so nick as you make all the decisions around here

LOL footy - thats precisely what i do with MSN! Since i can sign out and back in with single clicks, but it takes two clicks to set a status on and then off, so doubles the effort/time... Funkypool is exactly the same...

Not always, depends on your computer speed. Can take 5 secs to load my game applet, or 5 mins depending on what I've got running. This could be a great idea given a chance. If it's possible we could try it for a few weeks and if it doesn't work simply remove it

on my comp it takes bout 20s to sign in to msn and takes bout 2s set my set my status as away so how does it take longer?

LOL i cant play the game on this comp but both MSN and FP load up instantly..
