I do like the fact that he's played exactly 100 games... One less, and he'd be a newbie in all three games himself!

No no Spaker, don't train 'em. We don't want a whole new generation of newbies as good as you.

Spaker first things first , help yourself on playing pool. Playing barely over 100 games can not give a good addition on your skills.
Posting ridiculous things like this will cause tension and surely you can't expect a good note by people. Why? because you are nearly a newbie yourself.
Keep practicing and playing all three games and people may sit-up and take "lessons" of you sooner or later , till then.. that remains as "Force" puts it :

To anyone who posted against spaker:
We were all newbies once..I was never offered any kind of help and only ignorance and looking down on when I was a newbie.
Now I'm pro and its all 'hey m8' and 'gl' and 'ul' ( though hopefully not much of the latter!)
Fair play to anyone who helps newbies; and i'd like to put out the very same offer.fair enough if he's fishing for mod..he's hardly doing ne harm!
Pro's should be more helpful to newbies..share your skills!

Most of the above posted here are noobs, including magicblack. Atleast if they are not noobs, they do not have a clue. You can't help people on here, imo its impossible. Sure u can say snooker don't pot, but then thats you playing the game and not them. What are you going to do half way through the game? Tell him to hit the ball at a 48 degrees angle to the south east with mouse speed x and what spin? How the hell are they going to remember that? Pool is about your own style and choice. That is why no one received help, because it is just practice.

chip_fork did you look at my stats? Im no bleedin newbie, I'm pro!
As for helping people out:
A) its more about making them feel welcome on the side so they come back..we have more competition, more fun etc etc.
B) Of course you can help people in the actual playing of the game...where to hit for golden breaks..when to double...how side works..how to tip it reeeal light (you know...moving the mouse to the left?!) etc etc etc etc it goes on and on.
C)It is primarily about personal practice..ill be the first to agree, but there are plenty of tactics that can be thought a heluva lot quicker than learnt.
A is the boggest reason we should help and be more welcoming. the rest is insignificant.

id have to agree with magicblack here now there are lots of things that can be told to newbies not only game play but about tournaments and players to watch out for until they get good, even bout how to use spin and little tips on potting,so if this is a genuine thread to give others help,i dont see how others could see any bad in it,especially if there are new players who will read this thread and see that there is at least a few people that will help them.

Couldnt come from a better man (quite literally in the uk pool sense!)

Well said. You can almost sense the smile on a newbie's face when you give them a second chance, and a little tip here or there. It's just about human decency and letting them know everyone isnt out to get em!
Lets hope a few newbies read this and are encouraged to stick in there..

If you know your going to lose just put your ball on the pocket and when its open to win. go for it
All ways look what ball your going for and what ball after that so set it up
Always take your time to line up the shot
Don't keep hiting the ball full power
Use back spin, forwed spin and side spin
Keep trying
Don't give up
Practice all your weak shots on the practice table
When facing a player that plays fast slow the game down
Figure out your opponents weaknesses
When facing a slow paced player play really fast and they will give way
When playing a good player eg topshot,guess_who etc your best way off winning is to snooker whenever possible and wait for a carry, then clear
Playing hundred's of games will not make you a better player! practising you weaknesses on the practise table for half hour or so every day does!

If you have carry, don't be afraid to pot the opponents ball to get a better position on your colours!
(remember, you can only do it for the first shot after you recieve carry)
If you are struggling, like playing against someone very fast pace. use snookers and position your balls over pockets or rest on their balls to slow the game down and make them play at your pace.
Eventually they will crack and most likly make mistakes that will hand you the game.
Dont keep blastin the balls all the time cause it dont always work. and with funkysnooker they go in better if you hit them soft.
On the practice table, play a game against yourself. break and play until a ball goes in, and then remember whose turn it is; "red you" or "yellow you" it's the best way of bringing up situations that will really come up, and if you play enough games against yourself, you will practice all your weaker shots.

Its also good to try trick shots aswell.cause you never know when your gonna be snookered
If you cant pot also try to snooker them.
