Games

When i was a kid, i had many nicknames,
and would always join in the family games.
Would argue at monopoly about the cash,
Argue about my brothers toys in his secret stash.
The best game of all was buckaroo,
Where the bits and bats would fly back at you.
Now im a bit older the only game i play is cards,
Or strip poker, but winning is hard.
Obviously sports too, but its more of a match, not game,
The back of the shirt, holds my number and name.
But all i can say, is that one thing games have done,
is that they have making my whole life a lot more fun

Sausage and bacon and sarnies and egg
Placed on a plate on a tray on your legs
Chomping and munching and slurping away
It's the number one thing to start off your day

ooo brekky in bed.

One day i wish it would happen to me,
Someone will bring me breakfast in bed, while i watch tv.
Maybe my future wife will do it, but i doubt it much,
It will be me taking it to her, with the kindest touch.
I think the only way it will happen, is when i am ill,
And i will be able to eat, sleep and chill.
But until that day , its downstairs i go,
Eating the same bacon - i wake up and know,
There wont be no bread, or the bacon has gone hard,
Or the electric has gone, no oil and no lard.
But just one day would be a nice treat,
to eat breakfast in bed, and put up my feet.

Im now 72, and many years ago,
There was a brilliant girl that i did once know.
Here name was miss steph, we met on the pool,
An instantly i thought she was funny, cute and cool.
Many a laugh we had, posting on the site
From the early morning, right through til night.
Always cheering me up, with her intelligent jokes,
Enticing everyone around, especially the blokes.
One day she joined the poems, and asked me to write,
It was a poem on her, so i thought it was right-
to point out how great she was, we all loved her so,
and would be heartbroken, if she were to go.
So once more, heres to steph, on whom i depend,
Miss steph the legend, a really great friend.

T'was a wednesday afternoon, and steph was posting away,
NOt a care for anything else, just wasting the day.
Until suddenly when she tried to post to her friend,
A message came up saying 'please try again'
Her posts were all up, a hundred so soon,
so she had to use laydeebug, for the rest of the noon.
Very angry she was, but calm down soon after,
And carried on posting, creating more laughter.
So one hundred a day, more room for a post,
But if you use them all up, you really are toast!
