Shearer....cudnt just go and join Newcastle United a MASSIVE CLUB...he had to play for southampton......then go and win the LEAGUE with Blackburn......by this time he had proved him self FIFA'S OFFICIAL WORLD BEST PLAYER....AND WAS THEN LINKED WITH MAN U AND NEWCASTLE UNITED......HE CHOSE HIS HOME BORN BIRTH TEAM AND WAS SOLD AS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PLAYER OF ALL TIME.

hmmmmmmmm, don't think so somehow.

If he was a legend, he wouldn't play for newcastle!

He's a good player just a pity his only noticeable contribution to England came in Euro 1996, where he won the golden boot award, apart from that he's never really contributed to England in international football in a great way.
