I agree, it's actually easier if your opponent pots on the break. I just thought it was slightly silly for someone to say that a dry break can be to your opponents advantage when clearing from a dry break is as difficult as running out from a pot lol

Depends who you're playing.

Also, potting on the break gives you the option of playing safe. If you dry break you may leave a clear and if not your opponents has the chance to play safe and screw you.

I always prefer to pot and have the ball.

I meant the caliber of players recently have increased and most are capable to close a frame in one visit. A dry break can be the opening or opportunity they only require.

Most frames are decided by the break especially in 9us and 8uk - You only need a decent split and the rest is easy. Obviously with ease it can also create even greater chance to make some simple mistakes such as under hitting a shot or over powering one. (creating the risk to lose position)

8us is the only game type which really isn't decided on the break - good positional play, cannons, luck, tactical play and knowledge (intelligence) too make a decent 8us player IMO.

Well I discovered tonight that Ally had arranged to play mich at 9pm wednesday night, he said he could only play til 9.30 but fbl only takes 30 mins, so he logged out at 9.20 due to a mich no show..

Kinda made the entire "our team were online and arranged and were stood up >o" message seem stupid.. However, feel free to sub in.. Although ally pointed out he logs on then is off for 9 days, 5 days, 4 days respectively. So I'm a lil reluctant to sub Ally at all. Doesn't seem fair when he's been active throughout.

yeah mich hasnt been on much. but if they wanna throw someone in to play me ill play them. even though the deadline day arguments are fun at times lol
