Apologies for posting on LD thread, but it doesn't look like one in all honesty!

It hasn't for a very long time mate

Dunno how ya stick it J
It's hard enough work sorting leagues without having to listen to so much crap too. Lotta respect for hoss, yourself, zante, Zac and others who have been so dedicated to keep organising these things for quite a few to have so much disregard and keep the crap piling up

I think your attitude is very sad. There is absolutely no need to keep it going. As is said in school to the children.......be the bigger man and walk away

Cheers, I'm just doing excel side of things, not getting involved in the politics side as i have Snooks to run but this will be my last season if the league goes or stays as lost interest in Pool past two seasons but my loyalty kept me going so stuck with it but with site as it is, i think the time has come after the season to focus on Snooks.

both Sarah and I
enjoyed Glamping at the Quiet Site
in Ullswater last week
but spent most of the time in the pubs at
Pooley Bridge

nothing wrong with posh camping either

Who dares question camping !!!......Nice site the Quiet site ..been there 4 or 5 times twice with mates on a climbing week and three times or so with wife and kids.....although in a proper tent..not one of these things.

Shame the Mrs has put her foot down and its 5 star luxury in a hotel in Cyprus this year.....I'll miss the rain on the canvas keeping me awake..
Still at least I get to return to my homeland.

Everyone one on this thread needs to learn to chill out btw and worry more about not being in the Eurozone anymore...
bigger fish to fry
Except the Irish ones of course

I wasn't even dissing or criticising camping tbh.
As per usual my words are completely misinterpreted.

I've seen those glamping places and they look awesone tbh. Hope you and Sarah had a good time Craig?

Wouldn't want to camp in Cyprus. 40 degrees everyday last week and humid as hell! Whereabouts you from? My Mother lives in Chlorakas, Paphos and used to live in Limassol. Good for a cheap holiday but I reckon I'll choose a cooler time of year next time. Are the fires out yet? Was fire fighting planes overhead all the time!!

smaller clans is the way forward, at least until this site gets busier (if it ever will).

12 players max. would hopefully bring the number of clans up (at least 8?) also.

There is no point to carry on with 4 clans. 5 was not enough really.

Same argument as before mate. I would agree if decrease to 14 players but a 4 player drop is too much i feel and Captains won't like to remove players and wouldn't be any new clans as need people to step up and with one season left i think its too steep.

14 this then 12 next would be better then you can remove slowly but if it was 12, remove 4 per clan, that is 20 less in the league with clans no better off.

If Captains stepped forward (can't see it) then would agree with lowering sizes, until then it does more harm than good as more people wouldn't be able to play

We've been over this. If you cut down clan size to 12, I'll remove corsair, cgibson92, 2andygorams and ritcho. All 4 of these players only come on to play games when I ask them to, and if I boot them they won't bother anymore. They certainly wouldn't join another clan. That would be 4 more players lost to funkypool for no good reason at all. You only NEED 9 or 10 reliable players anyway, maybe just cut the minimum requirement. Not to mention we don't have the extra captains with either the time, ability or gumption to create any more teams.

If no-one steps forward to save FPD's - we may as well just sack it off.

Drop teams down too 10, 8 players and 2 subs. If players who are deemed surplus or not required decide to not play then more fool them. That's their choice and I'd much rather try to accommodate the majority than some who'd rather cut their noses off to spite their face and make everyone else suffer as a result. If they go, they go..we don't need negative people on here tbh. Obviously the league and game formats will need modication but that's not difficult.

The time for change is now IF we are serious about staying and keeping clans alive for as long as possible. It's not ideal but times change, we can only manage what we've got and TRY to establish a suitable solution which will benefit the majority not the few.

The reality is the sites on a rapid decline, players are losing interest on a daily basis. Sometimes change can be embraced and this could be a little antidote to rekindle some life back into clans IMO.

No Majority here. You can't expect the League to lose 20 more players. We had this discussion before but it never happened so why now?

I would say ask Jamie if he reactivates to post as FPD are the ones why it got brought back up. I think only FPD should have a say personally.

Changing things now won't save the league in my opinion, Just means for every clan size dropped you're losing 5 players overall so 16 to 10 = 6 which * 5 is 30. This is a huge deal to lose 30 people and odds are no new clans would be formed.

I don't see how it would benefit, would just mean 20 or 30 more quitting, is this what you really want? I know after this season 4 of us may quit clans but if this comes in i sense more than the 30 from cutting sizes would leave.

Clan sizes are fine i agree with faust and Dee Dee ! FPD just needs someone to grab the reigns .. And all the negative comes from 1 person usually. Klien hasn't even seen yet whats going on he could take over! I think shrinking clan size will make it about just good players .. Everyone has a full team. I just think some are worried their team isnt reliable . Let's see what klein says . And who knows maybe bucky comes back. But, who ever takes over FPD is quite lucky they have a full team and seb !!! lol
All teams are ready just one player decided not to play! So no reason to start changing things over 1 person! Buck hope you do come back!!

Name the plethora of captains ready to step forward to captain these extra teams you clearly think this would create, and name 6 of your players that you'd cut, and then how many of those players would go and play for another team? I know for a fact that I cut 6, they all retire. You may say "more fool them" but the only foolish thing would be losing them from the site. Or maybe you'd just like 20 players left on the entire site and you can contest the FCL between the Dim Reapers and Phoenix Nights every season?

You're reply is based on the worst case scenario, you're hypothetically assuming the 5/6 players deemed surplus from each team are going to be selfish like those mentioned at Uprising. Players have their wits about them and aren't all as pathetic as some.

I cannot see 30 players deciding to call it quits due to what could be a positive course of action. 5 possibly I'd say 10 max and that's if they are easily influenced by others and have no backbone.

Yes, because hardly anyone is quitting funkypool at the moment right?? lol And most of your post is plainly moronic.

"If they are easily influenced by others and have no backbone" what on Earth has that got to do with quitting a dying site? You're speaking like we're in the trenches in WW1 ffs! lol There is a huge section of the site just looking for a reason to sack it off, and if you can't see that - there's no hope for you.

Knock numbers down to 8 then and each team enter 2 sides in ALL leagues. They don't have to be the same so gives players the opportunity to play alongside the better players.

Maybe if a sub is used then a deduction in the amount of points available could be altered or the overall total deducted a little. Subs aren't necessary in every fixture neither. Might reduce or stop swaps also if there's a forfeit Lol.

I'm just thinking out loud here...I know...shock horror...I'm thinking.
