Milner didn't claim it, I think he were on his way down before any slight nudge made. I think at best it's a very soft penalty decision, plus no way could the REF see it, so in no fit position to award it.

Man City or whoever, I do not believe were a justified penalty. Sorry.

Too many soft penalties, you can't make a tackle nowadays just in case little primadonnas trip over, stumble and claim their weekly bonuses via the penalty spot.

Heaven forbid, they graze their knee.

Swansea, oh Swansea,
oh City said I,
I'll stand here on the North Bank,
until the day I die!

Take me to the Vetch Field,
way down by the sea,
where I will follow Swansea,
SWANSEA CITY!

COME ON CITY!!!

Gutted - agree with the decision about the red card, stupid! Carroll doesn't score all season and then he scores 2 against us - we can't defend set pieces with an average of like 5"6 against one of 6"2.

Hahahaha! Which bit of the foul was not a red card?

Just because a player doesn't go down, does not mean that the striker was not impeded.

Thought another ref would have agreed, I'd hate to be reffed by someone who would not give that decision would definitely get a shoein after the game.

if you watch the foul again

the Swansea player running with the West Ham player nudges him into the keeper

keeper should never ever be sent off

1st foul was by the Swansea defender, he should be booked, he wasn't the last player as the keeper was, so only a yellow, keeper was totally innocent

crap decision to red card him
look at it again and watch the nudge its as clear as day
plus the player was not totally declined a goal scoring opportunity because he got a shot away

If the keeper wasn't as reckless, he wouldn't have been outside his box anyways.

But besides the point, you say the defender was not the last player, the keeper does not count, so a red card was the correct card to produce, definitely for the keeper, maybe for the defender also.

As the defender clipped his heels (last man, red card)
Keeper nearly upends him, just quick feet and balance kept him the right way up (red card, denying a good goal scoring opportunity)

Well first off if you need two looks at it then that is more than the ref and you can't critique it.

Personally I think it was the correct decision. The nudge caused the ball to hit the strikers hand (so no handball) that took the ball in a slightly different direction. The keeper can't come out that far and get nothing. The keeper steps to the right after the nudge just as the ball changes direction, so could've avoided the contact but he thought he could get it till it changed direction. He is therefore preventing a certain goal scoring opportunity (he very nearly scored even after being fouled).

A player gets fouled twice and hits the post as a result, if neither had occurred then it is a certain goal scoring opportunity. Just because he can still get a shot away doesn't mean it's not a red because it's made much harder.

But then in contrast to that Ash, you have the penalty midweek with City, when it was a stonewaller and Aguero gets booked...

I like the video ref in rugby, but the debates in football are what make it more commercially viable then the rugby, so that will never happen!

Half naaa just Ashley Young.

My problem with penalties are, teams as soon as they see the penalty box they trip, throw themselves, dive, place their foot nearer their opponents and fall over. Knowing full well the defender has no leg to stand on. It's sheer manipulation, why should a team lose 1-0 to simply an act of dishonesty.

All teams do it, all decisions should be reviewed like they do in rugby. The dialogue between fans will and should be about how well their team played or did not, not the possible controversy caused or happenings during a match. This ruins football imo.
