Yer same for me.. dont really care what the type is but it as to be a mara event as normal ones are to short.. be over in no time.

Just a quick note from our side to say, it doesn't have to match any current format.

I can see some being put off by the "marathon" label, so you can just decide a format for this tourney in itself if you like.

Early rounds can be race to one or two, up to as many as you like for the final.

Also - this may be the first, but it won't be the last, so everyone will get thier favourite game type in time, so please support this even if it isn't your choice to begin with.

A short format (one frame for example) will be pointless for this type of event, especially in 9ball. ''Once in a lifetime tournament'' and your opponent gets a golden break or something to knock you out without a shot - people would think 'what was the point in that' and wouldn't bother next time it's held.
If it's to be a tournament this big and successful, then if people are putting their names down then they are willing to play, so the number of frames is irrelevant in my opinion, the more the better. If you can't commit to one evening once in a blue moon then don't enter. Everyone will be told well in advance the format and type and when it will be held, and players can decide from there if it's for them

I wondered how these things came about last night lol.. So admin can basically make a brand new 'custom' tournament from scratch? Because I was told that it was just the usual tourny, but had its name changed

I think admin should support this low and actually make it an annual tournament which also shows on your profile.

Biggest amount of turd i have heard this week, pockets the size of buckets and you only ever see strategy when you come across a player that can not clear the table with out two shots or 100+ snookers.

Ive decided to take the 8arcade and 9arcade out of the options , Simply because no one wants it and no one likes it.

Another thought i had was like the others was saying, would it be good if we wasnt to give it a name tag like 'marathon' and lets just say the chosen game type is 8uk for example, Have it as first to 2 up untill the qaurter finals and then first to 3 in qaurters , first to 4 in the semi's and then first to 5 or 6 in the final.

Just a thought , give me some input?

Given the above post I think you also need to come up with a catchier and more marketable tournament name!!

Yeah i did see that , im in process of messaging spinner now to see how often this could happen and obviously a better name

But before we decide on a name for the event ...How often could we make this happen? Personally i was thinking quarterly but obviously we dont want it to fit in like normal tournaments because then people would lose interest and maybe after the 2nd or 3rd we would see numbers drop.

So how often do you think this is best happening? & obviously because it will be different game types each time what do you prupose we call the event?

well whoever wins it is sure to win the day event so maybe name it with regards to that. maybe silver medal tourni i dunno summink like that.

or just call it lethal_lures tourni lol

If the plan was to rotate through the game types then they could be like Tennis and Golf style 'Grand Slam'/'Major' tournaments - one of each type per year - and recorded as such on the winner's profile.
