In my view, if the player is wanting a transfer to another team, he should tell his captain first anyways, out of respect more than anything before publically announcing.

This is just my thought on the matter, and as long the captain knows, then it is then down to the player, if he wants to announce it.

Whichever way works chaps, some players may want to leave it till the end of season themselves for whatever reason.
I think it's unfair not being able to name players anyway, it should be down to them not captains.

Exactly what I said earlier mate, most players want to know who they will be playing alongside than which team it is. I do think the player should have the common decency to let their captain know but sometimes this is not possible for maybe strained relationships etc.

Each to their own I feel, maybe if there were a code of conduct drawn up then new captains like myself will know what is acceptable and what isn't. Instead the moment I cross a line, it's like the film Fortress 'I get intestinated' lol, and am expected to curl up into a ball in pain.

Personally, if one of my players wanted to leave, I'd rather I knew, so I could look for a replacement and wish the player the best of luck, as long as they went about it through the correct channels.

But everyone has their own view on things, i'm not my way is the correct way, or anyone elses is the wrong way, just that there are probably ways to lessen the blow to your own clan
