It makes no difference, getting bored of people who try to blame something for their losses. You simply missed an easy shot, you should take 100% of the blame.

Moderators are there to primarily to moderate the chat rooms!
They cannot and remphasise the point cannot, moderate game rooms, as this would be virtually impossible.
Remeber Moderators are like you members who have more priveliged rights than you and rightly entitled to "play games" like everyone else.

In real pool if you conceded then that would be that. -This is not real pool. If you potted the black off the break(in real pool) would result in a re -rack Not a victory. I often use "gg" before the game ends just like i use gl b4 it starts. if that puts you off your problem.
Time it was nipped in the bud. The most frustrating thing in the world on funkypool.
If someone concedes in an attempt to put you off, that is bad sportsmanship and in real pool if you conceded then that would be that.
Should be able to contact a mod after the result (before you take your next invite) and the mod should be able to see the chat log, read where it says 'gg' and DQ the player who benefits from it and put the other player in the next round.
Would take 20 seconds and would end this annoying habit.

So, if gg doesn't mean "good game" anymore, exactly what does it mean? Similarly, what does "wp" mean now? Always meant "Well Played" back when I started...
And as for not ignoring something that puts you off, well thats just plain silly as by not ignoring it you are, in fact, putting yourself off, which is a strange strategy by any standards!

nono i agreed with the part that says one should ignore it. We both have the same strategy to deal with the problem.
gg does mean good game. But it doesn't mean "this ongoing game is pretty good". It is said at the end of the game in the context of "this was a good game"- it's always been this way and is on this and every other gaming website.
But we've filled many pages with this before!

Yes, if said at the end, it means it was a good game, but whats wrong with saying it is a good game?
And yes, of course its filled many pages but I genuinely do occasionally say gg and more often wp during games, mainly snooker to be fair as the games are longer and can have "segments" so to speak, but its important to remember there is no rule or convention that restricts it to the end of the game.

When you say gg in an online game, it is well-known that there is a context. It's widely accepted on any gaming site you go to.
But again, we agree that it should just be ignored.

I've always felt gg is conceding and feel annoyed when they carry on.

my thoughts exactly, just syay cheers pal gg, then clear up, chances are they wont be so unsportsmanlike again
I've said this before ill say it again, if somebody says gg to me i just say it back just to wind them up a lil more, be cocky about it like yup gg, you could add a wp just to rub it in a lil more but i only do this on occasions

I usually extract the urine, and tell them I am glad of how much they have faith in my ability and it spurs me on, which it usually does.
It also angers my opponents that I am cocky and confident, so it is a win win!

Yeah I just put gg straight back and then 9 times out of 10 the abuse starts when you clear up. I find it amusing more than anything else knowing you're opponent is really angry over an online game of pool, can't see what all the fuss is about!!

'gl' and 'gg' are the online equivalent of a handshake before and after a real life pool league match. I don't go shaking the hand of the other bloke as he's potting the black in real life. I wait until he's done. So does everybody else.

People seem to have forgotten what they mean. "Good Game" can apply anytime, indeed it can be a good game at the beginning and a dire one by the end!
"Well played" can also cover anything from a pot, positional shot, a game or an entire tourney.
Most fundamentally, if anything in the chat box puts you off, just ignore it. If it actually bothers you, I suggest giving up gaming in general for a few years

Obviously it's not but it should live by similar rules! Anyway I think it's rude and it should be fixed. Really surprised there aren't more in agreement. If can't be fixed then so be it! Seems simple to me.
