If someone concedes in an attempt to put you off, that is bad sportsmanship and in real pool if you conceded then that would be that.

Should be able to contact a mod after the result (before you take your next invite) and the mod should be able to see the chat log, read where it says 'gg' and DQ the player who benefits from it and put the other player in the next round.

Would take 20 seconds and would end this annoying habit.

This is the wrong approach and has been mentioned many times before. Moderators also wouldn't be able to accurately tell when a gg before the game ends or will they be able to do anything about it after.

I think it's definitely the right approach.

Moderators should be able to see the game result after it says 'gg' or something similar and should have the ability to do something about it afterwards. The game should be refereed in that way.

A quick, easy and simple solution to a problem that annoys many that makes the game fairer. Win-win situation.

To add there are only 20 moderators, of which a few of them are online at any one time. It would take the fun out of the game for them if they have to referee every game. Also you could consider the fact that the fairness would be taken out of the game and the will could actually be determined by a mod not the game.

Mods shouldn't be mods if they want to just have fun and they wouldn't be refereeing every game anyway. There won't be too many instances where this actually happens. Once players know the rules they won't bother saying 'gg' or whatever when they shouldn't. And it doesn't happen often where someone says it and you lose. Might happen 2-3 times a day max? Taking 20 seconds each?

Tough luck on the player. But there would normally be at least one on at any one time.

Moderators should do just that. Moderate the game and keep it fair. It's simple, it won't take long, won't take up too much of their time and it keeps the game flowing fairly. It's a straightforward solution to something that annoys a lot of people.

It is unfair because they have conceded the game yet can still win.

How does gg (good game) act as a concession? It is simply saying that it is/was a good game.

Do you honestly think someone might just be observing 'this game is a bit decent isn't it mate'? Anyone and everyone knows what it is meant to be when it is posted.

I don't see the issue here. It is bad form, it is unfair, people hate it and it can be solved easily or at the very least put people off from doing it. Simple.

I honestly think if nick personally offered everyone £50 for each game you win, some of you would try and find holes in it or argue it

It is unsporting no doubt and i used to be annoyed by it but damee once said "If chat does not put you off why should 2 letters as thats basically what gg is + it could have been a good game up to that point". Just got to get on with it and learn to adapt.

Most funny thing i read was when someone put a piece of card on the keyboard haha

Their has been several discussions about this (much like the 'Random Shot Penalty') which both ways has a point but no compromise was ever sorted as both as stubborn as the other.

Not much can be done to stop it so just got to let it be, but if it bothers you put the guy on ignore

Just don't say gl either if you are playing someone reknown for this, don't give them the opportunity to reply and engage in conversation, just put them on ignore. Best way.

I played some pillock the other day who didn't write gg early they decided to bombard my pm box with the word miss, obviously a person with as much intelligence as an amoeba, just sent the whole pm log to admin, so if you read this then thanx lol.

also if they put it and you feel put off, don't take your shot, instead get back up, refocus and aim just like real players. If you take the shot as they say it you tend to miss unless your a good player who can cope with it.

Use the full shot clock if you have to

I've said it before, and here it is again - the real problem is the strange association that has developed with "gg" having to do with the end of a frame. Likewise "wp".

People seem to have forgotten what they mean. "Good Game" can apply anytime, indeed it can be a good game at the beginning and a dire one by the end!

"Well played" can also cover anything from a pot, positional shot, a game or an entire tourney.

Most fundamentally, if anything in the chat box puts you off, just ignore it. If it actually bothers you, I suggest giving up gaming in general for a few years

I've said this before ill say it again, if somebody says gg to me i just say it back just to wind them up a lil more, be cocky about it like yup gg, you could add a wp just to rub it in a lil more but i only do this on occasions
