I'm sorry Been but I strongly disagree mate. The lesser players are more likely to miss simple shots/clearances gifting the better players more frames. Then the better players play the better players and scrape a couple of wins here and there.

Yes we all have to play each other anyway but that's not the point. My opponent could miss 6 blacks, then play you and take every one. Again, unfair.

It's just that anyone can have a bad day and lose a fixture, that doesnt mean they arent the best in my eyes. Going by frames, they can still redeem theirself.

Not particularly, it is to determine the best team, the best team would be the one who wins all their games.

Winning 6-0 doesn't show skill if the opponent had a bad day and gifted you chance after chance. Scraping wins against the big boys counts as skill.

The reason every single league in sport base their tables on points and not goals is because the system works.

My point is that noone wins all their frames. But the one that wins the most has shown the most consistency, just not luckily fit into fixtures.

Not really, the ones that beat all their opponents have shown more consistency than some who beat "lesser" teams 6-0 and lose to top teams 4-2.

Basically, we agree we all play the same players. But, there's not much difference with a 5-1 thrashing to a 6-0, maybe a rattle on the 8 or 9 ball could decide that. However, if I win 9 games 6-0 then lose to you 4-3 after you've won all yours 5-1, I'd still win the league...is that fair?

What if the 8 frames included 4 or 5 9 ball combo flukes and 4 or 5 fouls on black by your opponent, is that skillful?

Sort of like american college football...sometimes there are 3-4 undefeated team, yet only 2 make it to the championship bowl game.
