I remember many moons ago for some league the captians picked players from a pool after a killer game. (think no_visit won)
Maybe use this to pick a vice etc and go on from there..
I realise it would be time comsuming but it gives all a fair crack at signing a big player...plus will get all captains to actually communicate with the league runner/s.
Just a idea.

Can't see this working. everybody will just refuse to play with certain players, for certain captains and rightly too after all why should you be told who to play for or have to play with people you don't like? I'm sure that if we received the salary of an NBL or NFL player we would happily do it but until then let people choose where they want to play.
There is nothing wrong with the best teams having the best players, happens in all sports and gives everyone else a challenge to catch. after next season everybody will be back in the right divisions but everyone wants to reinvent the wheel all the time.

Lee's right you have man city and chelsea it is how it i. As a captain of a solid team I'd like to just keep growing and in time we will grow like angries :) regardless of league size.

I do agree and some top players have joined mice .... though that through blackmail.
I think more players need to step upto the plate and say "hey i fancy a challenge, maybe i will not go to the professionals (only use d as an example before i get hammered) lol, i will go to the underdogs and see if i can make them a great and feared team". Sadly until this happens it will be the same old story

I wouldn't dream for a second of implementing that into the league based on the facts that Lee pointed out that some players would refuse to play with some captains and what not.
You are your own person and only you can choose who and what team you want to play for (If they ask you to join). Like myself i always wanted to play for MVP and i did so but removed myself when the fun of it was lost for me. I have joined with Matty and Herring on the basis i want to play along side mates and what not and have always said i am semi retired so i would help out with games if needed as a sub or whatever.

about divisions:
on one hand you have Rangers who recently got demoted to the lowest for whatever reason which they are clearly a team who should be in top team which is way it works here, however this system can only work if clans stay afloat otherwise whats point of a promotion/regulation system?
if clans keep on folding one division may be best as it doesn't matter too much but as Jay said depends on clans next season, in a previous discussion i suggested less than 10 clans = one division, more than 10 = two divisions

Why bring up Rangers when all know that the head runner is a Bluenose? . End of the day Rangers deserved what they got in my opinion, think the power mad people in football took it a little to far though and it could have been done much better.
Point is a new clan will always have to start in the division two until that is changed (if it is ever changed if there is not enough clans)

Possible idea...
One combined Division of, for example, 12 teams with a 22 game season comprising of 11 of FCL format and 11 of FBL format. Each clan therefore plays each other twice during the season. 4 League games being completed every 3 weeks like it is now therefore the season length doesnt change overall.
2 separate cup competitions - FCL and FBL format - like a League Cup and FA Cup.
Can hear the complaints now
On a side note. If it ever does change to one division you would need to draw the fixtures each time to keep winning teams apart as long as possible to prolong interest.

Only problem with this is for example the FBL Cup has been unorganised this season (no ones fault) due to no tournament tree so the league runner would have to do a draw the Sunday after fixtures has been released which gives enough time for teams to get their list in.
of course though it is nice to finish off with the 2 best clans fighting it out but a league lineup works best in my view (can make it so the 2 clans you think is best (i.e. Professionals vs Chips n Gravy) is last if you wish). this could be for both divisions instead of just one as well.

so what if its ten clans ????

2 divisions 10 or more may be too big for one big division
20:29 Thu 30 Aug 12 (BST) [Link]
why would you want to join the 2 leagues
FCL is the marathon
FBL is the specialist
FCL is the marathon
FBL is the specialist
20:45 Thu 30 Aug 12 (BST) [Link] Why? One league of 10 is only 1 game more than two divisions of 5 teams.

A good thing about just the one division is that if all eleven clans that have signed up just now so pass the pre season then there would be five fixture sets in the season with the cup games along side them to. The cup final would be made as the last game of the season but then again it could be tied in with the final fixtures which would make the season two and a half months long by my calculation.
I have also already said that i would consider the one league even more if we had less than ten clans passing the pre season games. So if we had nine clans pass the pre season then the one division would probably be the best option as i see it but again it is impossible to tell as pre season is at least three to four weeks away.

so what if its ten clans ????
Constructive cheers Craig.
Why not make it one division for a season with the caviat that it may split into two again. Bottom half league two.
Try for one season at least of one league and if it doesn't work revert back?

I have pointed this out in over four posts now, i am going to do my best to keep it as two divisions. If not enough clans pass the pre season then i will strongly consider making it the one division for all clans.
There is a possibility i may change my mind about the above but for now for me anyway their is more valid points made for two divisions than there is for one.

Regarding what i mentioned before maybe a cap on the amount players ranked 800+ per clan ?
I know it is hard to evaluate some of these players but they do always seem to sit at a minimum of 790+ after a off day.

This is a clan league, it is meant to be fun and no offence but some ideas about ranking or seeding players is going a little to far, and the idea above is nothing to do with the league it is just about game rankings.

Ok no problem was just a idea to make things a bit more competative within the league.
Reason i said it was i remember when in scottish football you were only allowed a said number of foreign players per team on match day.
Which in turn stopped Celtic and Rangers playing all the best they had every game. In turn making it fairer on the also rans lol
Never helped tho
