Because this league isn't a dictatorship, it's a league for the funkypool community so as such the community has its input into the decisions on here to try and give them what the majority want. Otherwise you'd have people leaving the league a lot more and it would become a mess.
Again, YOU (as always) are the one to make it personal. You never listened to other peoples before you shot theirs down, why should they do the same for you?
I think captains/runners input would be needed in each situation to use this rule, otherwise 9 times out of 10 one captain would refuse

I think that a captain would be very unlikely to give permission to restart or another player to finish the games to avoid a default, because they'd end up with more points with a default. Unless you had "no defaults" bonuses for a fixture then there isn't really an incentive for both to get the game played

yeah it works for us due to no default bonus (10, maybe lowered to 7) + no win bonus (0) but on pool i don't think it will work as too many people argue for my liking, if it was a calm environment i say it could but at present time no

The only bonus now used is the fixture win bonus, so if the clan refused to use the rule and they were already going to win then you can see why they would refuse. The rule would have worked much better a few seasons back when the completion bonus was still being enforced.

That's why if it's implemented, then it should not require both captains consent. Maybe league runner consent, but unless one clan had an inactive member who started a game an their opponent deactivated/ got banned, both captains would never agree

any player that have deactivation/banning what ever the score is in the match the other team should just get the rest of the points in that match not go to defaults the league just gives the point to the other team
that player is just letting down his team and the rest of the players
if the game not be played and the player as deactivation in the last few days of the fixture

if you can't gain any points what advantage do you have though? it would be same as a default BUT you can cut points they earn too.
IF this was to be implemented it has to be Jay's idea as the 0-0 one won't work on pool
Edit: and normally i would say deactivations don't count as you can reactivate BUT with Jay's idea theres no advantage
2nd Edit: PLUS theres no completion bonus anymore which makes deactivating even more pointless

What if one player deactivates, and the other player just isn't online for the rest of the fixture. There would be no difference, you don't get the points cause the other person is banned, you get the points cause the other person doesn't come online.

deactivating and banned are 2 different things though, you CAN'T un ban yourself which admin have to do but you CAN reactivate long as its within 7 days so if your banned you deserve to lose by the maximum, if its deactivation only deactivation time should be taken into account
like i said though, with Jay's idea theres no advantage for you as you cannot score, only thing you can do is stop them scoring

moved here as it got lost, its about individuals
On the bonus points what if you have played all your games and left with your opponents that arent reliable, how will this be judged as you may lose out on bonus points for somebody elses inactivity?
