20.30 - 5 entrants
21.00 - 30 entrants
21.30 - 11 entrants
22.00 - 22 entrants

Highest entry was 30...

The push is obviously favouring the new tournapoint system, but is it really worth the heavy price of low numbered tournaments with hardly any sense of achievement?

What happened to the days of tournaments with 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 plus entrants? These can never happen when we're oversaturated with tournaments against a small user base.

Am i the only person that finds this tragic and a sad day for funkypool?

its true i personally think (and purely my opinion) that the micros have assissted in limiting the numbers in the "main" tournaments

i stand by what i said on other thread, hourly tournaments, 25 hour schedule, was good as you got something new everyday, tournapoints can still be done it just makes winning a medal more special than it is currently, plus you got something new everyday.

i agree, there is no need for micro's..

i prefered it when there was a tournament every hour, that everyone could join. Makes winning them much more special.

The more people that take notice and agree with the tournament schedule issue, the more likely it is that change may happen!

I would prefer to go back to cloone's original 25hr schedule I must admit, I miss the larger tournaments

Well, although I still rarely get to play in any, I think it is a big improvement, as tournaments are now more accessible to everyone.

Only once or twice over the scary number of years I have been a member could I spare a whole hour, sometimes more, to play in a tournament. Not to mention having to wait until one came around.

Now, with micros, I know I can enjoy a tourney without having to wait ages or lay aside exorbitant amounts of time to play.

The fact is, for example, the 13:00 9 Ball Tournament still only happens once a day, so is no less prestigious whether in the current timetable or if it was the only tournament the whole day.

Arguably a tournament loses prestige if the amount of effort required to win it is reduced by having to beat far fewer players?

nah just too many in general with fewer entries (even snooker i think has too many and snooker has fewer than pool despite being the more popular site), fewer tournaments means more prestige. ill always think that hourly tournaments are better.

yep micros are good but at same time you could play some normal ranked games if you know you can't play the full tournament.

Not sure how you can say it's a big improvement when it is clearly not. Of course there is less prestige when there is very few players in them!

i don't think its fair having tournaments in the middle of the night UK time. Like on snooker maybe they should have a few night ones

If you like many of our friends not on GMT, then Im sure that you wouldnt be stating, that its not fair for the members on GMT having tournaments when it is their night time or even early morning.

That is the value of having Micros at present - full weighted ranking in games without having to commit too much time to playing a full blown tournament. Normal ranked ranked rightly have reduced weighting.

However bring in automatically paired ranked games and they can have the same rank weighting as exists in tournament games.

The thread is not about whether or not someone "enjoys" winning little tournaments!

If I am knocked out of the larger tournaments, then I shall enter the little tournaments.

You should know you have played against me often enough in them!

i know this won't be changed but i feel strongly about it, site should accomodate all timezones, rotating hourly tournaments can do that

yep i know chris but you could just play normal ranked until next tournament.

even one every 30 minutes has to be better than every 15 minutes? with a tournament every 15 minutes i hardly see any normal ranked games anymore.

much better when they was all friendly

are you ever in 'larger' tournaments?

and even if you are, I'm usually the one to knock you out
