Me neither it should be same as last season which was 2 points for a win. Only when tied on points should the amount of frames won come into it.
I don't either, I have not lost a game yet but pointless playing the rest as I can't win the league from this position!
Like i said before this is why it was changed to 2 points for a win last season to prevent this happening. Now we have gone back to the old way the same thing has happened as before and now unless you win all your games in hand 5-0 you are wasting your time.
Please can someone explain why winning all game means you don't deserve to win. But winning the majority of your games 5-0 but losing a game or two in the process means you are better?
Based on the fact a lot of players openly admit that they don't try if they go 3-0 down in the last 2 games.
i still dont agree with the points system in this....

i agree, 3 people tied UK last season i think but one person won due to frame difference. i believe it should be 2 points a win > frame difference so its an incentive to play all frames > individual match that way usually whoever is more consistent wins
shouldn't really be having this discussion on Results page though!

The system used last season can be bitter too. I came in second in 9ball, although I believe I won the most frames.

most frames shouldnt really matter tbh, whoever wins the 3 frames wins the tie, simple as... 2 points for a win... keeps it simple

To each his own opinion I guess, I believe if everyone plays all their frames, the one who won the most frames shows the most skill (with some luck involved of course, it is pool).
Imagine this:
player A wins 10 games 3-2 and gets 20 points.
player B wins 9 games 5-0 and loses 1 game 3-2, and gets 18 points.
I don't think that would be just at all, but with the system you want it could happen.
But with the system we're using, the score would be:
player A 30 points
player B 47 points
Which I think player B would deserve because he lost far less frames.

I have an idea, a compromise.
1 point for each frame, and 1 bonus point for each game won.
What ya think?
Talking next season of course.

Using this scenario if the league was to play 10 games and one player has won all his games and beat every other player in the tournament surely he deserves to be the winner?
Also winning 5-0 doesn't mean a lot as half the players openly admit to stop trying after they go 3-0 down so the last 2 frames are almost a given in some cases depending how the initial frame scores go.
The scenario you mention above has happened previously that is why it was changed to 2 points for a win.

Sorry cap, I've considered your point of view and my mind hasn't changed.
Yes player A beat every other player, but just barely. I think anyone can beat anyone 3-2 on a given day.
Where as player B won 47/50 frames! I think that shows far more skill than player A, even if he did lose one game.

About people not trying after 3-0, doesn't this system give them more incentive to keep trying, when every frame counts?, than the old system where it really was over after 3 (unless you happen to end up tied for first)?

sounds like a good idea to me, 1 bonus point or even 2 for a win.
