I was reading back through and the idea last year was to have increased frames as the rounds went on, i.e. best of 12 up to the quarters, then best of 14, best of 16 final (or something similiar) but for some reason it never happened.

Would it be possible to implement that this season?

Also is the draw going to be seeded or unseeded?

Way it used to be done (not sure if it is still the case) but the first round would be seeded for top 16 players of the competition so any byes then goes down pecking order (1,2,3 etc) then its all random.

That stopped two or three seasons ago, incremental rounds does sound good though. Seeding to give a bye would probably depend on numbers.

My preference in any knockout format is a random draw and no seedings as it can mean by the luck of the draw any player could progress further than if they got put against a high seed they could miss the top players and get through to a quarter, semi final etc which might mean a lot to them.

As for the increasing frames it would be easy to put in this season if there are no complaints. Example as we have even number of games with the chance of a one frame shoot out. Semi Finals 6 frames of each type, Final 8 of each type. Or Quarters 6 frames of each type, Semi Final 8 of each type and Final 10 of each type. I am guessing as it is usually always top players that get to the final a 30 frame battle with another top player would appeal to most?

Ash hasn't posted yet but giving his recent circumstances i think he should be removed from PC this season Keith.
