Kenny those are world rules again confusing the issue here we don't play world rules UK on this site...notice the part in there about balls having to contact the cushion.
Perfectly simple to implement being able to move the cue call behind the baulk line off any foul.

there are all three sets of uk rules there plus the official english pool associations which i am sure most teams follow.

There are more than 3 sets of rules Kenny loads of variations the ones that are up on the walls in pubs, played in UK pub leagues and at county level are the ones i've quoted.
You won't find a D on a UK pool table for a start.

does all this matter seriously?
2 shot carryon behind line/where ball lands is what separates UK from US 8 Ball pool as well as the pockets but thats well documented.
if you prefer US rules to UK why don't you play 8 Ball US instead?
i quite like the differences between the 2 types

you get one shot off a foul in 8 us, can put the ball anywhere on the table and you have to hit the rail with your shots that's what seperates US and UK dgen.
We prefer UK rules by the way that's why we're asking for rules that get played in the UK

It's not going to make the 2 types the same is it?!
They will always be totally different games you can't roll up to a ball in US or it's a foul for a start this is just bringing in a rule that is actually played in UK pool and at the same time wiping out a lot of deliberate fouls.

Hundred percent agreed. And it was uk and it's rules that made this site so popular!!
