I swear you talking about people who get banned, not people who deactivate their account?
01:37 Fri 3 Jun 11 (BST) [Link]
So you want their stats reset?
why?
then instead of people resetting, they would deact/reactivate which is only increasing the problem which isn't actually a problem in any way and was a solution a few months ago...
ok, so i deactivate my account, then reactivate it. Why does that mean i deserve to lose my stats? people would just deactivate all over again.

That would just re-create the problem that self-reactivation has solved...

This looks like a spit.
ok when they come back after a mad moment, they should have all records cleaned off.

ive had a few accounts banned for multi-using, being able to deactivate and create a new name, then come back in a few days is a great idea! to be honest apart from obvious reasons like cheating... i dont see the problem with having more than 1 account aslong as your doing no harm, but as your not allowed then the reactivation is perfect!

exactly but admins are starting to ban 2nd accounts now, ive seen it happen this month on snooker so i wouldn't be surprised if its on here too.
they was planning to announce it on the forum but as of when i don't know.

thats what i mean, second accounts arnt allowed, so whats wrong with deactivating, making a new one and then reactivating again? your using the same email so your not having 2 accounts
20:36 Fri 3 Jun 11 (BST) [Link]
you can make a new one providing the other account is deactivated, but when you reactivate you must make sure the other is deactivated or admins could class it as a 2nd account.
but a tip you can go on as a guest for a few days if you wish for some relaxing time until your ready to come back (only you will know its you unless you blurt it out or mods keep track)

well if your using the same email you would obviously have to deactivate the new one first to be able to reactivate the old one

I would think jumping between 2 accounts by deactivating then reactivating would be treated the same as having multiple accounts, its not any different from having 2 accounts registered, you would still be logging off one then on with another, so you would still be using 2.

^ but you can't cheat that way, I would say it isn't if it's a one off. Its just like deactivating for good and going on another one straight away. As long as one of the accounts is deactivated then I don't see it as multi-using unless it becomes a series of deactivating the first account to go on the second, then deactivating the second to go on the first, then repeating that.

I did say if jumping between 2 accounts. which is exactly what I've highlighted in the quoted post.

You would be surprised as to how many users have actually done this.
Some Deactivating around 20 times!
Now why would a user require to do this?

don't know jim i know some of my mates has had over 100 accounts over the years just deactivating and starting over on a new account.
one of my mates didn't know reactivation was there until a few weeks ago.

But what would be the point in that? I think some people are dive down into loop holes. I think the current system is good and that switching between activated and deactivated user names is against the rules until the reactivation period has expired.

Only advantage I can see from it is I take it you dont lose the0.5 ranking points a day when you aren't on but thats hardly a big blow.
Way I see it if you want a break dont play or just guest don't see the point in deactivating but it doesn't affect anyone so if people want to let them.

Well keep the rankings drop for accounts that can still be reactivated.
So moving from a main account, to a secondary, then back to the main isn't jumping?

There is nothing wrong with deactivating and starting a new account, what we are discussing here is deactivating, then reactivating the account! Or as some see it jumping between one account to the other..

this feature was brought in so the admins didnt have to be nagged to reactivate, (i know some do but after a year when its suppose to be deleted so another user can use it, which it doesn't) but since feature got brought in admins been nagged less as they can do it within the week they deactivated.
P.S. to add the reactivation feature saves new accounts which other users could use.
let me ask a question.
would you rather someone reactivate after calming down or would you rather be beat by fake newbies of face of the earth?
doesn't matter to me either way but it shouldn't be changed, fine as it is
just to bump this up
yes jim jumping accounts is wrong and if thats case then ban one but for now i can't see a reason why to change what we have.

If you ban reactivating, then you should also ban reset game stats, as that is basically the same as a deactivate and reactivate.
