Need to up the time limits in micro UK games by a couple of minutes just ran out of time about to pot the black! Well annoying don't see why they're so tight seeing as tho you have half an hour before the next tourney!
UK games get tactical 5 minutes isn't enough sometimes

Micro 8 Ball UK Tournament has started with a pot of 160 TournaPoints available, good luck!
TOURNAMENT: Quarter-final (Race to 1 wins, time limit 8 minutes starting now)
Why would you need to increase an already acceptable time limit?

Game: 8 Ball Pool UK
Type: Micro (Ranked, TournaPoints Awarded, Tournament Win Uncredited)
Shot time limit: 20 seconds
Round time limit:
360 seconds multiplied by maximum games
Final
Score Status
ipotalot DQ - DQ taz35 FT
That says 6 minutes but when I checked up through the log after it said players have 5 minutes to complete the round, obviously yours is including the invite time.
Obviously you would rather tournaments got won rather than me getting disqualified about to sink the black for the sake of adding an extra minute or 2.
Like I said UK is a tactical game and dont see any problems adding a few minutes to bring it up to 8 It's only 3 rounds, 3 frames.
This has happened twice to me before once when i had onua beaten you can imagine the frustration with how rare that comes around to run out of time after a brilliant battle.

Once again, (TOURNAMENT: Quarter-final (Race to 1 wins, time limit 8 minutes starting now) I have to point out that the game time limit including your invitation time is 8 minutes. if you as a competitior do not enter immediately, then that is where you will be penalised in a reduction of time.
Moral of the story, accept invite when it appears and you will have more often than not, your full allocated time of 8 minutes for 1 game of 8 ball uk.

There's 2 people in a game Jim if your opponent leaves it till the last seconds you get 6 minutes. Moral of the story 2 of you in a final who are you holding up? It's a ridiculous stand point from you cos it's obviously not enough time else that wouldn't have happened and it doesn't take anything to rectify.

no point of a time limit in the final, i agree

It actually has implications on all game types not just micro. If an increase in time limit were to be applied to this, then others would then start to ask for increased time allocation in the likes of straight! Not to mention 8 and 9 ball disciplines.
I was DQ from a semi final in straight because my opponent had no chance in winning as I was 34 - 18 or so up and he decided to play tactically and slow, but I havent asked for increased time, both semi finalists being DQ.

The reason it's more of a problem in micros is because it's best of 1 frame. In a normal tourney(race to 3) you would have 6 mins x 3 so 18 mins. 1 frame out of them being tactical and going over the time limit does not make a difference because it's evened out.
This just hasn't been factored in so an extra 2 mins for all disciplines in micros would sort it. Obviously when games are finished the next round starts anyway and again no need for any limit in a final.

You seem to be contardicting yourself here, as I do believe that we currently have speed tournaments of which I seem to recall that they too are the same time limit as the micro tournaments. There never has been an issue raised against the time limit set for these.
Or am I missing the point that the speed tournaments have been introduced at the same time as the micro tournaments?

Missing lots of points actually Jim
-speed tournaments have a 10 sec shot clock and 4 mins is allowed per frame so 20 secs should equal 8 mins by that reckoning...which happens to be exactly what i'm saying.
Add to that the 10 second shot clock makes it a totally different game with nowhere near the tactical emphasis.

Irrespective of whether or not it is 10 seconds per shot, the emphasis is that there still remains tactical play and overall 8 minutes in which to complete that individual frame!

If you've got twice as long to take your shot games take twice as long obviously, if you've got 20 secs rather than 10 secs to decide what to do games are loads more tactical obviously, with less mistakes too and the game time is 6 minutes! you don't include the invite time!!
Everything you have tried to argue I have explained now you're just clutching at straws why don't you just admit that i've got a damn good point?!

8 Minutes for someone to win ONE Frame is alot of time. I find it difficult to see how you can not complete one frame within that time limit? If your opponent delays joining, is it not only 1 minute or 2 minutes taken off? That still leaves you with either 6 or 7 Minutes to play one frame.
Not hard, just pot balls.

UK games are tactical not just 'potting balls'

Tactical? I've never played anyone where all they sit and do is play tactical every shot. They may play 1 snooker or 2, but clear on the chance.

sometimes things work out that way like this one, my ball behind his which was in the pocket, end of the day you get the odd game go over. Doesn't affect anyone by upping the limit especially in a final.
It's all about jostling for position for a clear up in UK we're not talking about snookers but you dont go for a clear up till you can get it else it's game over in UK
