Looks like I might be away at the weekend, so I'll see if I can get the first round draw done by Friday, maybe sooner if entries dry up. Totally random draw as always, and it'll be done on an external website too, as always.

I think I'll be doing the draw this evening. This will provisionally leave 22 of the players playing in round 1, with 5 byes. I might then allow a maximum of five late entries, and these will be allocated opponents from those who had been given byes.

how you do draw on chatzy?

can it be random/seeded?
can it be updated throughout?
can historical data be kept?

Chatzy doesn't do draws for competitions. However, Chatzy has a cool thing that lets you select an object at random from a group of objects. I'm there now so I can give you a demo.

So essentially it's a manual draw, using Chatzy to do the random part of it, so that a) I don't have to go to the bother of putting names into an actual hat or anything like that, and b) everyone can see that the draw is transparent and not rigged or anything (i.e. I don't go giving myself a bye early on or anything).

just im running a snooker world tour where i need to be able to do random and seeded draws where i can update throughout.

challonge is good but when im registered i can only do seeded events.

Only seeded? It doesn't let you do random draws? One way around that is to just randomly "seed" everyone; in that way, Challonge doesn't know any different and will set each player with whoever based on what seedings you've given it, but the seeding is random anyway so you're equally likely to be playing anyone.

if you dont register you can do random draws but i registered so i can keep a record and will only let me do seeded draws.

most of my tournaments is seeded so thats ok but for 1st one its random seedings so had to not register to do that part.

Pretty bizarre that registering would cause a member to lose functionality... A bit like guests being allowed to take part in friendly games here on funkypool (which they are) but then being allowed to do only ranked games once you register. Doesn't make sense. Fortunately there's no such rule here

All games are first to three, which is best of five.

Any latecomers will be randomly assigned opponents next week, and these will play against either those who already have been given byes or each other (i.e. if there are two latecomers, there is a chance they will be drawn against each other). None of the latecomers will get a bye in round 1, because I said so.

If there's any disqualifications and byes are needed in later rounds, they go to players who have not already had byes. Anyone who has entered two accounts has not only broken forum rules by posting on two accounts but will be disqualified outright. Anyone who doesn't bother playing will be disqualified too. In the past I usually made sure to deny byes to players who looked like they might not play, based on forum and game activity, and that worked to a tee. Didn't bother this time, I trust you all

No provisional deadline: I'll come back to this in a bit and see how it looks. I'll start imposing deadlines then if things start to go slowly. But this will get finished, however long it takes and whoever I need to disqualify to do it. And on that happy note, good luck all!
