Don't really know what the majority feeling is but myself and a few folk i've queried about it feel that funky should return to the normal ranking points system that was previously in place.

I dislike the fact that a normal game in the different rooms are almost meaningless with hardly any ranking points now up for grabs in a frame. I know the usual comments about it only being a game are bound to follow but i for one like having a high (ish) rank and seeing how high i can take them.

Just feel now that opportunities to have a night where you decide to try and increase your rank in a certain game type is pointless with so few points unless you are in a tourny of that game type every four hours or so.

I for one would like ranking points to return to th previous and wondered if its just me?

tbh i agree, ranking points shud be more, cuz i beat a pro and still get only about 2 out of it.. ridiculous

Totally 100% agree, the only way you win big now is tournaments. Dont get me wrong i love ranked tournaments but makes just normal ranked games now feel like friendlies

I see it as a way to play more games. You can't expect everything from one game.

I just prefered when every match was as valuable/ meaningful as every other match.

Was rank 96x in a speed tourney against a rank 86x and only gained 0.9 points.

If this was a ranked match (no tourney) i would gain half of those points so like 0.5 or 0.4 i believe.

It does feel like friendlies.

100% disagree. i have no problem with tournys being ranked but why weighted so heavily in their favour. normal ranking points for every game!

You can't go to 800 and stop you lose points overnight, and i agree with onevisit the rank system in normal ranked games has to be changed.

I beat a virt in straight earlier and got 10.3 points and i was only 770ish at the time, before the new rank thing came in he would have lost about 6 points for that loss not 10

i have to admit i did like the old ranking system better but there is its benifits if you do good like entering a tourny and coming out 30 points better off.. right ghost ?? haha :P

ah the old ranking system was soo much better

i like this ranking system and on here there are loads of tournament an hour anyway i see no reason why you cant just spam the tournament option to inflate your rank

nick wanted the focus of the game to be more on tournaments than anything else and to make the competitiveness the attraction of the game. he is achieving this and many newer player are enjoying success as well as the old now so overall it is a far better balance i feel.

however i feel differently on snooker as the tournament ranking points on there are too high and if i lose i always lose 8+ rank nowadays

If those are Nicks reasons, why have the focus of the site tournament based only.

Extra ranking points
tourna points
day, week and month event winners
tournament stats
and an announcement.

Surely a combo of the above would be fine rather than all and deciding that a normal game in a normal room deserves very very little.

I never do bad in tournaments but how must a newbie feel entering these tournys, getting pumped first round by seasoned clan folk and other great players, waiting for micros, finding they are full so having to wait for an hour to try get up to a respectable rank.

The other option could be to raise the ranks in the normal games to the same level as tourny rank points. This could mean that you getting players having purple patches and having great success, fantastic ranks (working the other way too) and giving everyone the same opportunites to focus on the game type rank that they choose rather than waitung 4/5 hours for one of these tournys.

Not that i'm meaning ill quit the site or anything but it does put me off coming online and playing if i look at the time and its 11 mins past the hour. As a self confessed rank hunter, whats the point,
