Cheers nojustice. I think that an alternative game would be good. I agree that the current one keeps the funky in funkypool and the middle bags make it a distinct variant on US 9 and US 8 but I think the alternative should be there.

Especially a change in fouling off the break; that rule is just stupid when two shots are gained.

i just want the cushion rule implemented im sick of having one ball left and getting snookered 10 times because people some people need 2 shots to actually go for a finish.

that's 3/4 of the site cushion, i can honestly only name a handfull of people that play without needing to snooker on a clear, dont get me wrong we all do it at times, but over and over each game is a joke lol.

Golden break - isn't that just a US9 thing? i've never recalled a UK8 GB in my life it's usually classed as a foul if i am not mistaken so it still keeps the funky idea when that happens.

No cairen was just random bit of info i've added in but only foul off break is usually a in off in those rules & ofc if x amount of balls dont touch cush.

Yeah there is some high ranked players that wont pot a ball either until they get the 2 shots i ll play anyone but if i notice this i wont play them anymore ruins the game.
I have no problem snookering people but if the finish is on i ll go for it. I think i actually attack too much now from playing you liam and jon. You have ruined me ha.

i always go for the clearance and hate stupid little roll ups. and players that do them, in old sheffield rules, potting the black off the break use to win the game, but in world rules its a re rack ye, i have only ever potted the 8 off the break twice, and that was playing word rules

Irrespective of how many shots it takes for members to complete the game, it applies to all, therefore the same treatment can be used for or against you.

Remember it is Funkypool Rules!!

Yeah I don't feel that snookering is an issue but there is more skill in having to hit a cushion in order for your shot to be deemed legal. The current way shows there is little skill and you can rack up lots of mindless wins through it. I think it would basically make it fairer.

I totally agree, that ruins the game for me, too. That's not even a tactic, that's just brutally unfair.

I think the rules of 8UK are fine it is 8US that is a joke people foul on purpose all the time and know you only get the ball in hand and use it to win all the time really annoys me.

keep it as it is, its the one thing what keeps US and UK apart (pockets and 2 shot rule in UK), would be too much like US if either of those got changed.

People play the same way in pubs leagues across the UK, it's a tactical battle, some people take it too far but they do in real life too. I think it's realistic except for potting the black off the break is a re-rack and a deliberate foul forfeits the frame(unfortunately impossible to impliment that one)
