straight pool....
from official rule book
The shooting player is scored one point for each legal stroke even if more than one ball has been pocketed on a stroke.
its annoying when you have a 20+ break and you get a ''foul'' for potting 2 balls.
I have read that this rule is on the site to be fair? and to stop players from just smashing the pack? seems dumb to be honest.
there is no point in making up your own rules to seem fair.

rule is very fair, runs could go on forever if you could pot more than one ball,it pays to be accurate.

yeah but that is your made up rule, you can pot 2 balls in real life straight. (but you only get 1 point)
why not just go all out and change the rules for other games too?
maybe no 2 shot carry in UK 8 ball because it isn't fair that somebody can win in 1 visit?
lol just making my point...

Even if you were allowed to pot two balls at once on here it still wouldn't be real life Straight Pool as you haven't nominated the first ball and pocket.
This way offers a good compromise between the complexities of the real game and the gameplay restrictions in funkypool.

you are potentially talking about invalidating all of the records (such as seven ballings, longer runs in straight would be more frequent, shot success rate ). i dont see the need to change something that works and is fair.

why not change it so you have to nominate then?
i can't see why you change the rules to seem fair.
rules are rules ...
''funkypool'' ?? why is it just straight that has a different set of rules?

We all play by the rules as stipulated here:
http://www.funkypool.com/help
All disciplines are covered here, of which we all have to accept.

It isn't - other games do too. Like being able to Golden Break the black.

Nope - but then to be fair there's no table, cue balls, little cube of chalk and smokey pool hall either.
As a stand alone online game I still think it's pretty good though.
