That is very much your opinion, and very much something I would appreciate you not trying to make up the minds of others on.
People will, and of course always should, make their own minds up about everything, neither you nor I will ever change that
This however, is a fact :
Whether your opponent accidentally pots the black and loses in 8ball, or the 9 and wins in 9 ball, you have not experienced any for of luck, good or bad, whatsomever. They did.
Also, since both shots could have been identical, thus proving the statistical irrelevance of their luck being "good" or "bad", since that is purely personal opinion, as of course, is the decision as to whether any particular shot was a fluke in the first place
Back to topic - something not yet mentioned that generally appears in these threads - there is nothig whatsomever stopping people nominating pockets if they want to. Just do so in the chat box

Not at all, indeed your post reinforces my point exactly.
What you have to remember is that the balance of good and bad luck, and its "evening out", is relevant to each player as an individual. The outcome of that luck, and the effect it has on any opponent, is entirely irrelevant.

that doesn't make it a foul if it goes somewhere else, like it should be

Is that a little dig at nick I see there?
The reason it was named funkypool was due to the fact the way the game worked on very old systems by being able to run on them quite well.

Edit, he called it Funkypool because hes 30 something with no clue how to name a site, he didn't name it Funkypool based on it has bad in game rules... So thats the worst reasoning ever.

Love this post.
Same goes with that goal in the Premier League where the football deflected off the beach ball. Goes in Cricket where players will drop simple catches. Goes in Aussie Rules where the ball will randomly bounce in another direction and through the goals and in Golf where the ball will catch a small slope on the green and roll towards the hole more than anyone anticipated (Tiger Woods at the US Masters a few years ago).
In all of those examples, should the shot be nominated? Of course not. That is what makes sport fun and interesting and to some people addictive. Don't let a couple of flukes, on a recreational website let you down. As Spinner said, no one can say that they have never, ever, ever had a fluke on this site - whether it be a lucky pot or an accidental snooker which sets up your win.
Do we call these shots?:
Aussie Rules - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6xn4GsSxJI
Golf - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaGFMPKpsKY
Soccer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5loeV-_4og
Not the same sport, obviously...but im sure my point is proven here. All of these goals (and hole outs) were legal and stood. And these people are playing for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Any form of pool is ebb and flow of luck, as to a certain extent, are most other sports (see Frank Lampard World Cup 2010 if you want to discuss bad luck). It is what makes sport the spectacle it is sometimes and without an element of luck most teams / individuals would probably win less than they usually do. When I'm playing badly I tend to think it is bad luck, but more usually it is cos the opponent is playing well and making his / her own luck.
It will always be part of the game and I look forward to my next flukey one....

My point (which I failed to clearly outline) is that we play for nothing, and in the youtube examples, these guys are paid thousands of dollars. It also resulted in the other team (or players) being disadvantaged or losing their match.
So if a fluke was to happen, let it happen. As spinner said, there are plenty of pool games with chat rooms (like Yahoo Pool) where you need to call shots.
In the whole scheme of things, in my opinion, calling shots is just unnecessary. Thats all I have to say
