4.3 Match completion bonus
Each team receives a bonus of 5 points for any fixture that gets completed without defaults.

I think if your extending the first fixtures by a week to help get games played the above rule should only count for teams that complete all games before the original deadline.

e.g

viking YY and vipers

Shouldn't this be for teams that don't recieve any defaults against them, as if someone is offline for the full 14 days you penalise their opponents for not getting the game played...

the rule doesn't say defaults for or against,
it clearly states any fixture that gets completed without defaults, and that should be within the 2 weeks, not after 1 weeks extension.
This extension has been done to help TLK, if they complete their first set of fixtures in the next week do they deserve the completion bonus ?.
If a player is offline for 14 days its up to the captains and opponent to push for a sub.

Must admit one thing this extended thing has got a downside to the Crazy Eights as we had one game to be played and we were all sure default would go our way then our games would be done and dusted

still got nearly 21 hours untill the original deadline, plenty time to get that one game played.

As much as I (and the rest of TLK) appreciate the extension, I really don't want it to be causing arguements.

Yes, TLK were in an awful state when I stepped in, and I struggled at first due to lack of available players, but I done my best. I even sent messages to everyone to remind them to arrange games!

I strongly believe we now have a secure team and this problem will be a one-off.

about allowing quarantine players, we asked captains, i sort of agreed but i was mainly talking about defaults at the time but im 50-50 on it now, as on the upside maybe fewer defaults on the downside its bending the rules a little bit.

on previous thread Jay wrote "potty wouldn't do this" maybe not but potty isn't around anymore so it would be a waste of a message to ask her opinion.

i think kev will stick to his extension/quarantine unless smurf posts otherwise today.

but i assure you all this is a ONE OFF and i know some of you aren't happy about this choice but can't please everyone.

and what if there aren't subs available?

i must say kenny is a captain of vipers and meant to be a league staff and was not asked, or spoken to about this T,L,K situation he is very mad and belive rules are rules, yes T,L,K in his oppion should never been aloud in to leaugue as they had the less games played, anyway showing unreliabilty.

If there is a need to change a rule during a season (and there isn't here ) then every clan should have the chance to benefit from it. As it happens some clans have already finished all their games, and some may even have weakened their teams by making subs in order to get games done.

Regarding this being a decision based on input from this discussion, having re-read the posts above there was never a mention of there being an extension for all teams at all. There was mention of an extension for the TLK's games and for allowing ineligible players to play but with minimal support from anyone. It seems the majority of posts were either to let TLK carry on within the current rules in the hope they solved their problems or to remove them from the league immediately.

Sometimes you have to consider the wider picture rather than the more immediate one. Suppose at the end of the season us (for example) and TLK were level in the table and our last available player to play a match had been offline for two weeks and therefore that game goes to default with no extension. TLK manage to get their games all finished and finish above us by virtue of having had their week 1 & 2 games extended and by the opportunity to play otherwise ineligible players. Would that be right?

That is just a scenario to show why this change is flawed in addition to not being needed.

And as I have said earlier, The Vikings actually would stand to probably benefit from this long term by virtue of other teams in our division not picking up 15-0 defaults after today so my view is pretty much unaffected by any decision. It is also nothing against murph or TLK as I would hope they are able to compete properly over the rest of the season.

I used to believe in the application of common sense and fair play to rules in clan leagues however the reason the FCL has lasted so long is exactly because there is a full set of rules that have been consistently applied to all situations (even defaults) thereby reducing arguments.

Anyway that is just my input into this discussion. Clearly whatever will be will be and we will move on happily.

im sorry but my team is not playing the rest of fixture 1. they had their time just like everyone else. was only the captain not available so they had no excuse.

Are you serious? First of all, when I started helping I had to release two players straight away. That left me with 9 elegible players and very little lee-way to make substitutions. Add to that two players offline for a week and another in the same situation as 9ballsniper1 (having computer problems). How many players does that leave?? I challenge anyone to manage a clan in this situation. I'd love to see how you'd cope

cmurphy deserves respect cause of what he's done to T.L.K, turned them from a right state into a competing team, cheers

im not having a go at you or anyone infact, we had players not here due to internet problems too, not as many as TLK but still, thats not my problem.

well kev should have sent messaged all captains.

if you all feel so strongly about this i will ask kev if he will drop the quarantine thing but unless smurf posts saying he doesn't want the extension then it may stand.

and i agree chris, rules should be there to be followed.

On second thoughts seeing the amount of captains and even league staff that didnt get asked about this, this was a very poor decision.

we had them in friendlies..... they didnt get played, we had them in fixture 1...... they didnt get played. im not playing them a 3rd time to be messed about.

Stick by your decision not to play ang. This was a stupid thing to make this new rule without even asking captains, who were being affected by this, how they felt about it first.
