more to the point who doesnt like heavy metal (i dont mean that sarcastically as in everyone likes it btw, im really wondering who doesnt like it)

i forgot 2 mention a couple more kick a*s bands:

Murderdolls

muderdolls are great, but i wouldnt say they are metal. theyre sort of shock rock i guess. their drummer is awesome and i mean that in its true sense

murderdolls are metal, just not heavy enough
i would say slipknot but they've turned more into heavy rock rather than metal.
Gorgoroth
are a death metal band, i dont like em but meh, thought i'd mention em

Meh, they aint to my standards...Neither are slipknot anymore, i said they used to be.

whats a classic heavy metal song to you then? i reckon sad but true is very heavy metal. super heavy riff evil lyrics heavy handed drumming, guitar solo, long intro. what more could you want?

Lol i agree with you there. But ive never liked metallica, although ive never heard their older stuff.

Edit: i like the guitar solo to triviums song like light to flies thats a class one. But they shout too much in a majority of thei songs including that one

i think sabbath (apart from the odd hippy interlude) were the perfect heavy metal band. the slower the song the heavier. thats why i like metallicas slower mid period stuff, like wherever i may roam and my friend of misery. although of course i love master of puppets.

Heh yeah man, sabbath were and always will be a class band. Aint listened to any of their tunes in a while though ¬_¬

Iron maiden? Route of most of the heavy metal music of today =D. Although i only like a few songs.
