I think it would be cool if we had the choice to choose either 2-player or multi-player straight to add to the fun. I was playing today and thought to myself: "It would be cool if i can choose the amount of players like killer, and also choose the amount of balls potted needed to win". Just throwing an idea out there. It would be so fun to play a 3 man game of straight with the goal being 50 pots lol.

or could we do something like golf? can you play by yourself and just go at runs? i'm sure dame would approve

brick smart idea i would approve aswell and marc your idea was not the best idea considering thats all people would do, and there would be no compitition on your hands

it's basically still the same competition to get high runs as it is now except you won't have to wait for a game and you don't have to worry about getting snookered every 2 seconds

Thing is though, you have to think how practical this would be. Changing the limit for score would need a whole new ranking scale.

Don't agree with the single player mode either. Just complicates things a lot i'd say.

Yeah I don't think we need a single player either, just a straight practice table that keeps track of your run. Which is essentially the same thing, but not 'official'.

Dame I disagree about having to change the ranking scale. it would just stay the same. Put it like this...if I play a game of 9ball with some one the same rank as me, I would lose/gain the same amount of points as if I play a game of straight with that same person. The only difference is one game can be won in a single shot and the other you have to get to the set point amount. No reason why the ranking scale should be changed at all. Hopefully Nick could put this idea in consideration, it would be so much fun if ya ask me.

Well you don't know how the rankings work then because that is totally wrong. You gain more points in straight in this case.

So, if you increased the score to 50, 100 etc, the ranking scale would have to change to compensate for the increase in the time it takes to win a game.

yea i admit i never noticed the change in ranking..it always seemed the same in straight pool as with the other games but i guess i've been mistaken. with that said...would it be difficult to make this happen?

As far as i'm aware, it would make it a lot more complicated. As each game has a different ranking system, so if another one was to be added, it would be a different game in retrospect.

I am just guessing here, sort of making it up as i go along lol.

upping for more feedback. id really like to see this happen..even if the number of balls cannot be changed.
