As i look down the thread there's 5 posts made by you pro, its just spamming imo...

And as for this matter, naming and shaming is wrong, nothing ever good comes from naming and shaming...

Would you like to log in and find your name plastered all over the forums accused of bad sportsmanship?

If it were me and I saw it, at least then I knew I would have the chance to defend myself (unless someone had capped the thread... ). I figure I'm a sporting player (unless someone has proof to the contrary!) and I would gladly either refute or own up to any allegation made against me. I've been my own worst critic in forum posts in the past.

People who do unsporting things can expect bad things to be said about them, and I'm sure that although this is not allowed on the forums, it happens in chat and private messages. Word gets around. I know of one player (who is now banned) who was accused of PM'ing players in games so that they would miss the black. I'm sure that word being spread about players like this would protect other players from this kind of behaviour because they would be thereby forewarned.

By the way, I did know about this player's identity from chat or online/offline message, I deduced it by other (legal!) means.

I do not oppose the rule against naming and shaming in and of itself. But if it happened to me, I would eagerly defend myself to the point where I would request that my name not be edited in the accusing thread.

I hear what you're saying and agree somewhat. However if you remove the naming and shaming rule;

1. anyone could slander for no reason, and it would be a nightmare for Admin/Mods to sort out legitimate complaints from hearsay.

2. Can you imagine the number of threads this would create, or if kept on the one thread the amount of bickering that would need sorting out.

removing the rule would do more harm than good.
