Yeh its 3 months before your aloud to make another account, and even after that i think its 1 strike and banned again.

Anyway back to the thread, i personally think its a bad idea to advertise gambling on a all age friendly site, because it might influence others younger than ourselves to take up gambling, therefore becoming addicted.

Hosting gambling off site is clearly allowed and of no concern or responsibility of this site.

Announcing the existence of such should clearly be allowed here too, something spinner apparently agrees to, since the statement was allowed to stand.

Lots of problems related to hosting such things though, like Dave already pointed out....

1. Controlling age (which you in most countries need to do if you want to avoid legal responsibility for under-age gambling)

2. Money transfer systems / responsibilities, and legal aspects related to the same

3. How do you handle cheating?

Lots of problems to deal with, but if someone wants to try, by all means...

Clarify a few points -

Something like this would not be allowed to be organised on the funkypool forums.

You interested? If not please stay out of this thread :)

Isnt telling someone to stay out of a thread unless they are interested in gambling 'organising on the forums'.

And in Game Queries it would be in the wrong place

Well, asking people who clearly are not interested in a topic to keep their comments to themselves is hardly out of line in my opinion.

Nor has it got anything to do with organizing anything here on this site.

Why don't we leave it to the funkypool staff to deal with what goes and what doesn't, shall we?

The problem with gambling with it not actually being allowed on here (which i agree with), is say i decided i wanted to play you for money and you beat me, there is no way you can ensure il pay, i could just end up sending you chocolate money and be all the merrier because you cant control it.

Also something gives me the idea you dont think you will lose, but say i get lucky or you catch me on a good day, how can i trust you will pay up.

I dont think doing it unofficially will work unless you find a good sport, which in that case fair enough and good luck, but really who would want to pay out when they know they dont have to.

Well i've always been confident in my play, so technically whoever i play i am 100% confident i will win more racks than they do. Its just how funkypool goes.

There are programmes available that use a 'mutual bank', where both players place the money in there and the winner is given the code. Thats how they do it on internet chess anyway, but this requires witnesses.

the way i USED to do it - is play 1 pound per rack and pay via paypal, Screenshot of an agreement is a binding contract, and refusal to pay is punishable, basically paypal will force the money from your account if given proof of contract.

Double post

Basically all you need is the email addresses and real life names of the people - then a screenshot of them agreeing :)

Ah right fair enough then, as i say i dont mind if people play for money as its none of my business, but i dont think any involvement of money should be brought in officially on funkypool as its just a fun site for people to chill and i wouldnt really want to pay for it as iv got far to many other things i spend money on lol and i believe the price of my broadband warrants me on here
