Simple. There is a group of people, the Townsfolk (Townspeople/etc), and among them are Murderers (Killers/Mafia). Every "night", someone gets killed. Then, during the "day", the remaining Townspeople decide that someone has to pay for the crime, and votes to execute one of their fellow Townspeople. Then in the night, the Killers strike again, and so on.
The game ends when the Townspeople no longer outnumber the Killers, in which case the Killers win, or the Killers all get executed. There have nee 3 games so far, and the Killers have won every time. In fact, I think only one Killer has been executed in the whole three games.
One person needs to be the narrator and tell everyone what's happening. He/she will also be able to communicate with the Killers during the "night" and find out from them who the next victim will be. Obviously the Killers each know who their fellow killers are, but the remaining population has no idea.
Usually (on this thread anyway) the narrator cooks up a story of some sort, and usually he/she writes him/herself into it as the first victim, thus allowing everyone a chance to take part in at least one execution without becoming a victim before anything happens.

Nope, doesn't look like it... But it was fun while it lasted. I tried to float the idea months ago and no-one took it up, so it was nice to see it being played the second time it was suggested.
However, I still think we should have put a 48-hour rule on it; townsfolk who don't vote miss that turn; if none of the townsfolk votes, no-one is executed; and the mafia fail to pick someone, they miss a turn too

Just us 6 then so? If so, we'll have 1 killer and 4 innocent do-gooders

Well if I'm narrating then there'll be no delays as the last time. 48-hour rule:
- After a murder by the murderers, the townsfolk have 48 hours to decide who they're voting to be executed. Anyone who does not vote: tough. If no-one votes, then it can be presumed that they did not bother, and therefore no-one gets executed for that turn, and the murders get to kill someone else as normal. If at least one person votes, then that/those vote/s count/s, and someone will be executed because of it. If there is a tie in voting, then either the townspeople can sort it out (very quickly obviously) or one of the tied townspeople can be chosen at random, or whatever.
- After an execution by the townspeople, the murderers have 48 hours to decide who they're gonna kill. Naturally, just like above, it only takes one person to make a decision, should only one murderer be in touch with the narrator in that time. If no-one bothers, then the townspeople get a reprieve, and they can proceed to vote someone else off. Although a murder has not taken place, there are obviously still murderers out there (which will be threaded into the story). Otherwise the game would already have ended anyway.
And if I'm narrator, if 48 hours should elapse and I'm not online, then everyone has until I am online, and then the deadline is at that point.
Who's the narrator, me or you, Chris?

I'm out of ideas lol - emotionally drained from the last one
Random draw it between me and you (and anyone else prepared to do it)
If its me I am afraid it will be really simple with no frills (or thrills for that matter lol)

lol - same here as well, can't imagine I'll be dressing it up too much
Any other takers for narrating??? Seeing as now there's a method of ensuring games don't drag on, and that I've had experience of being both a killer and a non-killer, I wouldn't mind doing it... But does anyone else want to?
