You should have been in the chat room just now... Absolutely disgusting stuff was being thrown around
As for your texts in 5 minutes? Google and several other sites crashed and connection speeds got twice as slow. Website availability lost 14% off the index and there were over 100,000 tweets an hour with the tag "Michael Jackson".
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8120324.stm
Glastonbury will now honour MJ.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8120310.stm
And, even 12-14 hours later, the BBC "most watched/listened" section has 9 out of 10 MJ stories. The only non-MJ is the BBC channel itself.
A phenomenal global response!
EDIT: Further global response:
At around 11pm last night, BBC had site traffic of 48% above average.
All of the top 7 albums downloaded on iTunes this week are now MJ's
7 of the top 10 music videos downloaded this week are MJs.

R.I.P.
Strange feeling to know that he has died after growing up listening to his songs in me mums car and then buying his records when I was a teenager.
What a brilliant talent he was, abit quirky but all great geniuses are/were.
Will be missed by millions.

Thanks for those great words Paula, very nice indeed!
If we only could add a few appropriate dance moves to go along with that...

MICHAEL JACKSON
The world has lost such a great man
Its Michael Jackson and i was a fan
His best selling album ever was Thriller
News of his passing was a spine chiller
A great peformer from such a young age
With any size audience he could engage
Heal the world make it a better place
Man in the mirror loved all human race
His music it touched so many a life
Been through lots of trouble and strife
A man with such talent and he stood tall
The man was a legend and loved by all
Your great memory will always live on
From the very day that you were gone
Im sure your fans will do all they can
So rest in peace dear Moonwalkin Man
R.I.P Michael :(

something isnt quite right........he was an awesome talent thats for sure but something isnt quite right about his demise...at 50 and a man that was fitter than a butchers dog????...forget his quirkiness and his private life.....love him or loathe him, it was very untimely
i hope there is nothing sinister
RIP MJ and thats from a rocker through and through, but appreciated your talent from 1979 to 1989
(as a solo artist was your best years)

He was fit
but he was working out 3 times a day to prepare for 50 gigs!
At his age it was always going to be a problem
plus the cocktail of drugs it could be a number of things.

Absolutely.
You can't dance the way he did and keep up that massive intensity on stage without being very fit. And even if you could, you wouldn't be able to constantly perform like that without *getting* fit pretty fast.
High level dancers are in general among the most overall fit category people of all. Michael was certainly no exception.
