Do you think that the uk table should be changed, so that it matches the other tables (especially in the pocket department), to better represent a real uk table?

I like uk pool as much as the other forms on offer but find myself shying away from the uk games after developing a dislike for the table.

Would it be such a hard thing to change?

Ask around and you shall find others that agree.

You'll also find that many others disagree.

But would they be able to find a real uk table where you can dribble a ball down the cushion and drop it in a middle pocket? (assuming the table is not planted on the side of a hill)

Consider it a challenge...

Not at all, I think it's a good idea that you bring it up.

I for one am not a big UK player so either way wouldn't really bother me.

I'm just saying that there are a lot of users who have been here for years who like the table as it is.

ive been here since 05 i agree that the 8uk table is easy to pot frrom any angle unlike the real life tables with the cushins on the pokets

If you would like to help, all i ask is that you bring it up in conversation to raise awareness.
Simply ask them if they have heard of PASP.
With luck it won't be too long before we're getting more positive responses than negative.
At which point it will be time to take it to 'Funkypool' and ask the table be changed.
If they need proof then all they have to do is ask a few people in the chat rooms if they are a member of PASP.

The more people that know, the better the chances of getting the table changed.

it should be changed.the pockets have no knuckles.the middle pockets should,nt be pottable from any angle.lets break old funkypool traditions,i know the old school players will go mad at me for saying this,but the US table is harder and more colourful,its time for the change.

Has bren brought up a few times in the past and thought about but it was put to rest.

You will find other things on here that does not happen on real tables like back spin at the rail, hench funkypool.

Table should stay as it is.

Just for clarification the word funky in Funkypool is only used as it doesn't take up to much space on the server, something along those lines anyway, nick mentioned about it a while back on snooker.

The UK game is brilliant as it is! I think that the only reason you find the pockets "silly" is because you haven't grasped the skill of using them to your advantage which others clearly have. Maybe a few practice sessions on how to use them to your advantage is in need.

However many members you get of this some what desperate group I'm sure they will be severely outnumbered by those who will not join.

I'm considering starting a campaign to have my local install hooks in the ceiling so that I can dangle from them while playing, just like we do on real funkypool!

I'm considering a petition So that theres an invisible wall in front of the pocket everytime my opponent shoots!

The bottom line really is that the table has been like that from the start, and to change (update) the pockets would mean every record on 8UK would have to be reset. I for one disagree with that.

The only way i could ever see this being resolved is that if a new UK table came out that was more realistic and calling the current one arcade 8 ball UK, something like that. But i don't think this is needed at the moment.



Something like that, as the word "funky" has no relevance to the game its self being funky, but to the fact it can be played on slower machines without too much difficulty, something along those or mike's lines anyway.

Oh and im sure UK8 is the most popular game on here aswell, so why change about the most popular game?

No, please leave 8 ball Uk as it is.

Original and best - in my view.

I think its fine as it is.

If people are getting sick of the 9ball table and the others they can go on UK pool and have a change.

So i dont think this needs to be changed personally.
