And I think Stevie D won the snooker championship 6 times in the 80s, won it 6 in total, sure they were all in 80s, because Hendry dominated the 90s with 7 titles, just get Ego to confirm the answer

The link is in the surnames for both, and for both the link is related to European Football Finals (UEFA Cup and/or Champions League)

Colin was right with 6 in the 80's as well

Well Tony ADAMS, Kevin THOMSON, and Steven DAVIS have all been in UEFA Cup finals, but all lost.

Adams against Galatasaray in 2000. Thomson and Davis for Rangers against Zenit in 2008. They also had a Charlie ADAM on the bench but that is Adam and not Adams

So their surnames have a namesake who has been on the losing side in the final of the UEFA Cup
