Any threads I've seen related to cricket have been archived, so I thought I would create a new one. There's got to be some cricket fans out there!

I love the one day games, particularly Twenty20's, test cricket can be a bit of a drag but I still enjoy watching it. England's women's team are in the world cup final, about the only decent thing England will be winning for some time

And England's one-day series with the West Indies is starting on Friday, I will be watching that with interest.

Thought you might like it, since you used to play it and what not

England should win the world cup, looks like they will be playing New Zealand, and England are far better than them from what I've seen, so they have got to be confident.

I like the English women's team because almost their whole team are actually English, unlike their male counterparts

I'll just state the link I have with the ex-England captain of Kevin Pietersen, his first English team was Cannock, exact same place as I play football

Apparently he didn't like the Black Country accents though

England won yesterday in controversial circumstances by the D/L Method. West Indies came off for bad light thinking they had done enough to win, when actually, have all the counting was done, England had won by ONE run

Didn't see it myself, just read a few match reports, sounded like a bit of a farce in the end, still, England's first win of the tour, good start for them here

I didn't catch it myself either haha. I don't follow cricket that often but does sound a bit dodgey to say the least!

The men won the first ODI

Ain't it always the case, last minute replacement being the hero. Nicki Shaw replacing Jenny Gunn, and taking 4-34. Good win though for England

Yep, very well done to them, put the men's team to shame who were terrible again against the West Indies!

Few lookers in the English women's team too, might take women's cricket up

Dismal performance by England again, batsmen are having an absolute nightmare, don't know what's going on with them!

Gonna have to seriously up their game if they are to force their way back into the series, they were absolutely woeful today.

Huh?

Bowlers given a chance to go first today, not doing brilliantly just yet, good to see Flintoff back and taking a wicket already

Was easy in the end yeah, but also somewhat fortuitous. The Duckworth-Lewis system always seems to favour the side batting second...they needed to get 130-odd runs from 20 overs, as opposed to 240-odd from 50 overs, and with 10 wickets in hand, chasing down 130-odd from 20 overs as opposed to 240-odd from 50 is a lot easier in my opinion. But well done to England, sets up the perfect showdown for the last game

Run rate for 130 in 20 overs being: 6.50

Run rate for 240 in 50 overs being: 4.80

You sure?
