I was just playing a guy in 8UK. I was on the black up in the top left hand pocket. The guy kept bringing up the PM window to block my view of the shot. I'm guessing this cannot technically be called cheating, but it does have an impact on the outcome of games.
So what can be done?
I still won the game, followed by abusive comments from the guy. Made my day.
But I could easily have been put off and lost.

PM spamming is not tolerated, if it happens again, use the send complaint button and action will be taken.

Do remember you can minimise the window and it wont pop up again, or click the "ignore user" button and they can't bother you in PM or game chat again

You could always use block PM while competing thats what I would do.

as i found out that if u minimise the window it can still mess the shot up by slowin the computer makin it look like a lag type shot.

PM'ing a player to make him/her miss a shot is cheating. You're externally influencing his/her shot; the only way you can legally influence his/her shot is by the lie of table, which in turn is influenced by you through your shot.

Minimise or otherwise the PM window, and it will not appear in front of the game window. Keeping the offender on ignore or changing your settings so that you don't accept PMs while competing (which I've had to do ) is better effective.

I totally agree that pm ing whilst the opponent is trying to take their shot would be in my opinion definetley cheating!!

It has happened to me in the past too!

Even in tournaments. I just minimise the pm window and they can spam and pm all they want as it then minimises any disruption to you.

The latter part is the important bit here - do NOT close the PM window - just minimize it.

Yes, you may complain and get people banned if they have done something wrong, but that in itself can rarely happen fast enough to help you with the problem right there and then.

It's definitely cheating. It's only happened to me once, and it affected my play at the time because I was an inexperienced player, and anything puts off a newbie

If you're not sure you can trust the opponent, just open a PM box and minimize it until the game is over. I played the same opponent about two weeks later, checked the pm at the end of the match (which I won), and noticed they had attempted to spam again. Best option, and if they do it, you can report them.

I would call Private messageing why you are trying to take a shot a form of cheating.

So I just tick the box Ignore while competing..
And if they wan't to ''spam'' just let them spam the main room.

I have had lots of trouble with this problem aswell untill I got told about the Ignore feature.


I was 799 ranking and then some immature player that has to ruin it and go ''miss miss miss'' continously in the PM window which really annoyed me.

So the part in bold is the best option, Well for me anyway.

yes i remember my m8 bingobango had the pm thing done to him by a certain top of the uk table player when he was a newbie and he missed the black,not a nice way to get to the top.

bingo didnt react well,thus the reason he is banned, shame tho

do admins even do anything about cheaters? I know of two reports and both players are still active and still cheating

Rest assured they do, that's all that needs to be said

not in a very timely manner

We usually ban within a few hours of the player cheating but unfortunately at 5am we may not be able to process due to being asleep.
